Personally, I think Korean brand skincare is much more cheaper than European/Japanese brand such as Dior, Shiseido, Kose etc. From the quality, I think some of Korean skincare are quite good and I'm very comfortable using them. Brand such as Skinfood is more consistent than brand such as Etude House.
2. What type of skincare products that I opt to go for?
Normally, skincare such as for hydration, sebum control and whitening will be the one that I'm looking for. Because Malaysia is hot throughout the year, a proper skincare products is important.
Hydration- if the oil and water content in your skin is imbalance, your skin will look oily because oil helps to keep your skin moist. Never skin your toner and moisturizer/emulsion.
Sebum control - Blotting is other way to remove excess oil on your skin surface, but over blotting will make your skin dry. Use a light skincare that able to perform well in controlling oil/give your skin an adequate hydration.
Whitening- I found out whitening products are oily most of the time. For me, I only use whitening product during the night. Skincare that use during the night time, should be able to repair your skin condition/damage during the day due to over exposure of UV sunlight.
3. Flawless skin?
Some people ask me about skincare that I use because they said my skin look flawless. Haha~ I don't have flawless skin, I do have scars ( chicken pox ) you can see it if you look closer. I've pimples during my menstrual cycle and I do use acne care product - T3 acne gel. The rest skincare that I use is Skinfood Peach Sake line.
4. Do I attend to beauty saloon?
The last time I attend beauty saloon is when I'm 10 years old. That time I'm on my puberty age and gosh.... my face, especially my forehead and cheeks has so many evil zits. My mom insisted to bring me meet her Shiseido beautician. But the beauty saloon treatment does improve my skin condition.
Well, now days my home/room is my beauty saloon. I did it myself.... :p
5. Skincare should be taken care from in towards out. How?
I think, no matter how good or how well your skincare is, sometimes it still doesn't works optimum. I've no idea why, but maybe because different people, different skin and thus different results obtained. I think the way and the things that we consume can help us to shine from in towards out. Eat cooked tomatoes, fruits (blueberry, grapes etc) with high antioxidant, reduce sugar, reduce salt, honey, cut down fried food. You will see the difference of your skin after 2 weeks.
6. What do I think about drugstore skincare?
I really dislike drugstore skincare because it is either a hit or miss. And for items that I didn't like, it will end up sitting at a corner. But if you insist to buy drugstore skincare, I think get a Japanese brand drugstore skincare will make you smile. I found out Japanese skincare - Hada Labo is really good and I see immediate results after testing.
7. Do I use any anti-acne/blemishes products?
yes, I do use acne products when I see acne on my face. Skinfood tea tree cleansing gel as my daily face cleanser and T3 acne gel during zits season.
8. Steps by steps for skincare. How to perform it correctly?
Some people thought just apply a thin/thick layer of cream or a dap of toner is already consider as taken care of their skin. A proper skincare should start from the lightest to the thickest.
Toner -> essence -> emulsion/moisturizer
9. 24/7 with sunblock? SPF?
The ozone layer is depleted day by day so we aren't free from UV light. I put on sunblock almost 24/7. SPF 50 when I have out door activities, SPF 30/SPF34/SPF35 for daily go to school/shopping use, SPF 15 when I'm at home. The higher the SPF the better the sunblock, please not to forget check on the PA, PA+++ is the best because it shows how long lasting the sunblock can perform its function. People might wondering why I still using a SPF15 while I'm at my home, because indoor light can also cause your skin darkening. As long as skin is under protection, pigment melanin will not be over excreted to protect our skin, thus no accumulation of melanin on skin, so we remain fair.
10. Brief about my skincare routine.
I will use Etude House O2 white mask every twice per week to keep myself fair. Skinfood Peach Sake line as day time skincare and O2 whitening line as night time skincare. I do deep cleansing every 2 weeks using a peel off mask and Silk Whitia mask. I use mask sheets every other day except for the day I do deep cleansing/use wash off mask. Every week I will exfoliate my skin using Skinfood Pineapple peeling gel. But lets say if I have my face scrubbed on Monday and I have a meeting/ presentation/dating on Friday, I will use Etude House Magic Enzyme Peeling because it is gentle.
Have a great day... off to school!

Nice info! whoa, i never think of using sunblock 24/7, but i surely use it everytime i go out...
Thanks for answering all these questions and sharing them with us! I try to put on sunscreen every day, it really is important. Even more so when you have scars on your face, they can become darker with sun exposure!
I'm too lazy to use SPF indoors but I think I'll emulate your example!
Thats was so informative!
Thanx for loving Korean products! xoxo~

another point about sunscreening indoors... I've heard that even the light bulbs indoors (the bright lights) when turned on can also be damaging to the skin if you're under it for too long~~~scary~~~ maybe we should all just live in a cave or something hahaahahhaa
i gotta check out this etude house magic peeling and skinfood pineapple peeling gel :)
