Favourties of The Month: January'16

Wow, I can't believe that January is almost end. The whole month just flew by like that but I'm glad to tell that the entire month was a fruitful one. As usual the beginning of the year is busy because every company is rushing on their account side, doing lots of documentation works, cash flow and stock forecast....phew!

My favourites for this month consists some skincare, an eye palette, shower gel and the long lost (I thought I've lost it during last year spring cleaning). My hubby said, I'm too good in hiding stuffs @.@|||

Lush Showe Gel -- Hot Toddy
This stuff smell so good! It  has the combination of Christmasy spices which I actually only use it during my night time shower. It has a very warm, cozy, cuddling scent that makes me want to jump into my bed after the hot shower. Great for cold weather...

Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser
This comes in my Sephora order early this month. It smells like oranges. I've heard people raving about it for a long time but just never thought to give it a try. Well, it is a translucent gel with tiny little beads which meant for a gentle exfoliation. Actually the beads are very gentle and the gel actually lathers quite well. I use this in the morning and just like its name ... REFRESHING!

Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream
I have difficulties searching a good eye cream, most of the eye cream is either too rich or too light. Plus, some eye cream just rolled into eraser dust and mess up during concealing under eye circles. I'm quite surprise that this eye cream has been working very well on me. At least it hydrates for not oily, and I do not have any issue with messy eraser dust on my skin. It looks like shimmery cream in the little jar but glides on like a dream. It is almost fragrance free and leaves a mild tingling feeling around my eye area. I think it has some firming effects too.  Because it is a shimmery cream, it helps to brighten up the eye area. Not to worry because the shimmer is too fine to be detected.

Olay Total Effects 7inOne Advanced daily moisturizer with cooling essence

Night time moisturizer. Olay is a drugstore brand that creates good quality of skincare in a very affordable price. It soothes my flakes in just few days. I have AHA peeled this month and blah... my skin just can't take it, my whole chin flakes till my hubby thought it was my saliva that dried up. So, after I cleanse my skin, I apply this as my night cream, the next morning, my skin becomes soothed and no more flakiness.

Kose Infinity Deep Moisture Concentrate
This is a semi gel like serum, because of the thick consistency I prefer to use this during night time. It helps a lot on my drier skin.

Bath & Body Works 3wick Candle -- Lemon Verbena
*shouder shrugs* I have no idea where I've kept this but I'm glad I found it. I always have a soft spot for lemon. It smells so refreshing and clean. Even my hubby can't stop light up the candle!

Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette

OMG! this is such an amazing palette. It actually released last year but after reading good reviews from bloggers I decided to own it. Whether is from packaging towards the texture, pigmentation it definitely worth an A. It is very versatile because most of the colors are very wearable. The darker matte colors can be used as eyeliner whereas shades like African voilet and bamboo are good to be used as its own. I'm so in love with this palette!

Favourites of The Month: August 2015

Over the past month I know I've been slacking on my blog, so sorry for that I'm currently trying my best to back on blogging track, hopefully this month will be more blog posts. (finger crossed)

August has been great but at the same time is a very busy and hectic month. I tried to upload this post for days and I just couldn't help myself and fainted on my bed straight away done all my skincare regime. Yeah, I'm tired and exhausted, physically and mentally.

Without further rambling.... here we go:

1. Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Cleansing Souffle
It took me over 6months to hit the pan, oh boy, 500ml and it certainly last me a loooong... way. What I really enjoying using this is because it is super gentle, and still cleanse the entire face very nicely. My hubby also claimed that his skin feels really comfortable after shower (obviously, he must be curious with my cleanser). Highly recommend for those who have sensitive skin like I do.

2. Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette
Ok, I can't remember the exact year I got it, but I recently re-discovered it and it still work pretty well. It has 15shades, all very smooth, creamy, buttery with great pigmentation. I use it almost every single day. Some of the shades might look very bright in the actual palette but a soft wash of color still can be achieve if use on a light hand. Overall, is an oldie but a goodie!

3. Smith's Rosebud Salve
Long story short talk, it is wonderful, it heals my chapped lips OVERNIGHT! not only for lips, any dry patches/cuticles/heels, name it, it just can use all over the body. Ahem... obviously I will use a cotton tips to scoop out some of the product if I'm really mean to put on my heels.

4. NYX Round Lipstick # Tea Rose
Great pigmentation, glides on like a dream, the lipstick itself is quite opaque so it gives me a thought of a matte lipstick, but a softer version. Great for everyday use and looks very feminine too.

5. Shu Uemura Tsuya Lotion I
For me, I think it is more like a cleansing lotion, not meant for hydration nor whitening. I poured it onto cotton sheets and gosh, so many dirt appeared on the cotton sheets. It truly cleanse my skin even though it is just a toner. Just a short note, do not pour too much on the cotton pads else it will leave a sticky hint afterwards. Great to be used as a cleansing toner.

6. Skin Aqua Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++
Seriously, I'm very picky with my sunscreen, I only use Cellnique sunscreen or Kose gel sunscreen. Few months a go, I got it from my sister-in-law because her shop got extra tester, so I thought since is free, why not I give it a try after all the economy is pretty bad right now. Please note,  I'm always a cream/gel sunscreen person, I never like nor enjoy using any sort of liquid sunscreen because it feels heavy on my skin and always feels uncomfortable. After tried this, I thought I would say it is a good one, not the one that wow me, but at least my skin feel nice, smooth and shine free. I would shake well before pour it onto my palm, rub it and put onto my face and I always have 2 layers. If you're looking for an affordable sunscreen and have sort of sensitive skin, give this a try, perhaps you'll like it. Well, for me, I think it is a good drugstore sunscreen that I can use at this moment.

7. Kose Clarifying Essence
I use this in day and night after cleansing my face, it is pretty watery but works wonderful. For me, it removes all the dead skin cells on my face and prepare the entire face for the next skincare items. It helps the other products to absorb better and making the skin more translucent. I have just bought a backup in my recently Kose 5x points sale.

8. Kose Infinity Pure Advance Deep Clear Mask
It is a 2 in 1 mask, it contains beads that work as face scrub and kaolin mud as a medium to suck out all the impurities inside your pores. Firstly, cleanse your face and make sure the face is semi dry, not too wet, squeeze out the require amount and apply all over the face, scrub and leave it till dry, then rinse of. Oh dear, my skin feels super smooth and silky. Like all deep cleansing mask, always remember to follow up with a hydrating mask and a face cream. Then, look into the mirror the next morning, your skin will look amazing.

9. Kose Clear Whitening Mask
I think this is probably the best peel off mask I've come across so far, really sink deep into your pores and pull out all the gunk and even facial hair. Haha...each time I used it, my skin looks clearer, brighter and breathable. I am so in love with this item. I'm not suse ig this year Kose will still come out with this LE size 145g (usual size 80g) but grab one if you can, it works really, really good!

10. Maybelline Define-A-Lash Waterproof Mascara # Very Black
This is my 2nd tube, since ever I saw it was used by Raeviewer in one of  tutorial using drugstore items, I immediately as her opinions on what she thinks about this mascara and since then I was hooked by it. It isn't available in Malaysia, so always I need to order and get it shipped from US.
It holds curls and last more than 8hours. I would say it is more like a clean effect mascara, giving you a nice, clean eye look.

11. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil
What more I should say? Amazing set with lots of colored eye pencil, good thing it doesn't smudge on me and because of the how colorful it is, I can actually just rock with the eye liner without having any eyeshadow or a sheer wash of eyeshadow.

So, I hope you all enjoy reading my long almost review like of monthly favourites. Please share if you have any great products recommendation, I would love to give them a try~

Favourites of The Month: June 2015

Wow, can't believe June is almost end and I'm ready for July. I don't do monthly favourites that often because my products are almost the same unless I switched some of my makeup and trying new skincare products.

I keep my makeup very easy and simple as I prefer putting on neutral eyeshadows and put on some glow onto my face. Whereas for skincare, I'm in the process finishing up my backups before things expired and going back and forth with my oldies which I've developed some good relationship.

Start with skincare, body care and makeup:

Kose Sekkisei Emulsion
I used this years before but never really like it because it was too thick for my skin, somehow, I think the product got reformulated/ my skin change (not sure), I like it this time. It was my freebies from my Kose haul awhile back. I use this after toner, pump 1-2pumps and massage into my skin. It sinks into the skin quickly without feeling sticky. After some consistent use, I noticed it brightens up my complexion too.

Cellnique Soothing & Hydrating Lotion
Aww, this one, my all time favourites and what can I say, more hubby loves this too. It is probably the best face mist I've ever come across. Sometimes, I use this to soak my cotton pads and let it sits on my skin for 5-10mins, so refreshing and it makes extraction less miserable. (Not advise to extract our own, we aren't professional who know it might leave ugly scars?)

Cellnique Total Day Time Protection SPF 30
I go through tubes of this, it has a pink tint, which brightens the complexion and make my skin looks better and more awake. There's a LE for mother's day too, which comes with Marula Oil and act similar like CC cream....I bought 1 for my mom during Mother's Day, she likes it a lot. In case you are like me, just dust some loose powder for a matte look. It is good on its own too, I don't find it too oily, but add a hint of glow and dew to my face. Love it!

Alqvimia Anti-Stress Body Oil
This is the sample size, I have a bigger bottle with Lavender oil. This stuff is amazing. I'm someone who enjoy pamper myself with good things, seriously, I safe money and then I splurge. Previously I signed up body treatment mainly for massage because I always encounter soreness on my back, neck and with my extreme workout I really need some massage to ease my muscle tense. The oil smells nice and really relaxing. It pours out thickly but it absorbs completely when combines with massage. The skin feels so soft and I have a nice nap/ sleep.

Maybelline Master Conceal # 20light
affordable concealer, almost medium to high coverage. It blends really well just beware not overly done as it will look slightly cakey on the skin.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer # Pore Minimizing
Great primer for hot weather, it keeps my skin matte and fresh, my makeup last longer too.
It feels so smooth after use, I have quite large pores, I don't think it will hide them but it doesn't makes a difference to my makeup look.

Maybelline Volume Express Cat Eye Mascara #LE Hello Kitty print
I bought this long time ago but never use it, when I did my spring cleaning I noticed I still have a backup for this. The mascara wand is like comb that you brush onto lashes, leaving them long and more define. The Hello Kitty print is just something to die for. haha. It doesn't smudge even I use it for almost 9hours and easy to remove.

Ambient Lightening Blush Palettes #Luminious Flush, #Incandescent Electra, #Mood Exposure
I was not a blush person but after I met the ambient lightening blushes, OMG, it is something I must have everyday, even without eye makeup I will still make sure I apply blush, how crazy! Honestly, it is very hard to order from Sephora website because for oversea order, they tend to cancel for some really weird reasons. I like LF and IC which gives the nice glow and hint of color to my cheeks. It creates a soft focus look and you skin just looks better, healthier and you just look a lot better and good with the blushes. ME is more like a muted, rusty color but still pull off really nicely and settle. Sometimes I use it as an all over eyeshadow too.

Too Face Natural Eyes
The previous packaging comes with paper box but this newly released comes with a tin box, which is so much better and easy to carry around. The colors ranges from matte to slightly glittery and from day to time which is so versatile. The eyeshadow is buttery smooth and good pigmentation.

Well, that's all for my monthly favourites.  Hope you all enjoy reading it. Please share you monthly favourites in the comments too, I'm very happy to know them too.

Favourites of the month : January 2015

It's the time for monthly favorites, I hope I can keep it up till the end of the year. This month I discovered some new products as well as some oldies. I'm very into lip products this month, so you may notice a number of lip products in this post.

1. Kose Infinity Refining Massage Cream - thick and creamy, it actually keep my skin very plump but not greasy. Definitely a must use after a deep cleansing session. I use it once or twice per week, depends how regular I am on the deep cleansing routine.
2. Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask - smells like a combination between cinnamon and pumpkin. It feels tingling on the skin which for me I think it is working in removing those dead skin cells, keeping my face soft and smooth. It does has some particles to polish and refine the skin texture. I don't put on my face for too long as my skin is more prone to sensitive side at this moment. Please always follow up with a hydrating mask/ sheet mask after use which will actually double up the whole home skin therapy effects.
3. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery BB - simple and easy, I can leave the house without any foundation or face powder if I'm in a rush.
4. Za Perfect Fit Concealer #02 - blend nicely into the skin, keeping those zits and dark circles away
5. Mentholatum Q10 lip gel - non sticky lip gel, I use this in night time, it helps to keep my skin soft and flakes free.
6. Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss #Berry Allure, #Pink Pop - OMG, this is the highlight of this month. I am so freaking in love with these 2 lip glosses from the pigmentation, texture and quality, AMAZING. I'm not a lip gloss person when it need to be wore to work. Most lip glosses tend to be very sticky and wear off very easily, this one is vice versa. I tried the previous formula and found it was quite drying and emphasized my lip lines. Since it is in new packaging, I decided to give it a try again, and WOW. The new formula is great, it doesn't make my lips peel and it doesn't sink into my lip lines. Highly recommend to give this a try.
7. Eco Tools small Kabuki brush - soft and precise.
8. Benefit BeneTint - Perfect when I'm in a rush, last for few hours and it can be used as cheek stain or lip stain, fuss free and small enough to carry around.
9. Anastasia Brow Powder Duo # Brunette, Dark brown - I love Anastasia brow products, they are so amazing. The brow powder actually creates a very nice and natural eye brows. It comes with 2 shades, so you can create a nice dimension. Best use with angled brush because I prefer brows with some arch rather than the thick korean brow which is very famous now, but I'm just not ready to jump into the bandwagon.
10. Physicians Formula Mineral Face Powder #Translucent - oil free, fuss free, non clog pores.

Happy reading and thanks for stopping by.

February Highlight 2014

February is certainly a good month, a month with love and joy and presents.....
I have red packets during the Chinese New Year, seeing Chinese Hokkien worship using sugar cane, my birthday, making an egg stand still, hauling Kiehl's skincare, Fuzhou red rice wine noodles, Puma bag from hubby, popiah, badminton/sports with hubby, Valentines presents exchange with hubby, eating Valentines day donuts with my mother-in-law, eating homemade Nyonya kuih, a heart vintage key pendant and some memories during my working days in ex-company.

This month, I didn't upload a monthly favorite post because for me, I love everything this month, so I decided to do a highlight with photos. Photos is always the best illustrator. But just in case you are really curious what are the items I favor the most this month, here's the list:-

I will include my reviews for some items in March.

- Simple Cleansing Sets (hit pan)
- Kiehl's Mid Night Recovery Elixir
- Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil # Dark Brown
- Clarisonic Mia + Shiseido Perfect Whip Foam
- Clinelle Oil Free Smoothing Compact # Ivory
- Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
- The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau De Toilette

Though February is the shortest month, I think I've enjoyed it to the fullest and it is absolutely fabulous.

The Belated March Favourites + Short Review White Perfect Night Cream

Hello, is April now...wow, time flies.
Work has been more hectic than previous month. My sister in law just gave birth, we all have a new born in our house.

I've pretty much stick with my skincare regime but I did tried a new skincare product, salad recipe and exercises.

As for the skincare, I really enjoy using the Loreal White Perfect Night cream as part of my night time routine.
White Perfect Night Cream contains a breakthrough ingredient - Melanin Vanish™, 1 drop 50X more powerful, which helps to inhibit melanin production at the source. Night after night, spots are reduced, skin looks fairer and more radiant.
adapted from Loreal.com

Volume: 50ml
Price: range between MYR 28-30
Texture: light watery lavender color cream
Scent: soothing scent, nothing floral.

Review: I find that the cream itself is not too heavy for my skin type, it just nicely hydrates and brightens my complexion. As usual, I will apply my Cellnique toner, skin action sebum gel then top up with the night cream. Like my previous night time skincare routine, I always use water gel cream, it hydrates but not enough. I still notice and feel my skin tugging every morning after cleansing. Some times I see flakes around my cheek/ chin, it truly helps a lot. My skin texture seems to be more supple and more stable, less redness.

As for salad recipe, I mainly make this version. Less carbo, less salt, less fat... More vege and healthier

Ingredients:

  • cherry tomatoes / vine ripe tomato
  • toasted walnuts
  • sunflower seeds
  • sesame (black)
  • bread crumbs (if needed)
  • blueberry (if needed)
  • raisin (if needed)
  • lettuces/ alfafa/ crunchy leafy vege
Dressing:
  • plain vanilla yogurt
or any sort of dressing you prefer. I just think using mayonnaise is fatty.

The last item is exercise. I don't believe that just by control the food intake and omit exercise can loose weight. At least, exercise helps burn fat, strengthen muscles, joints. When I was checking for diet plan, I came across this blog Blogilates. She is such an inspiration. Although some of the workout is ''torturing'', it is truly worth it when you see the results. I've still have lots of workout to learn, but part of my favourites are Call Me Maybe Squats and Drive By Inner Thigh. OMG..... my leg muscle sores until now.... Haha...

I hope it is not too late for me to post my March favourites. I will do some products review tomorrow and keep finger cross, I will do some EOTD or FOTD.

Have a nice day!

Memories of February 2013

Month of February is always the shortest yet the sweetest ever. I'm the February baby and Valentines fall  on this month. I've so many joyful moment last month.

During the Chinese New Year I got to met with my relatives and cousin sister and her little baby boy from UK. I've never met the little ones since he was born, such a cute boy. I got to stay with family for about 5 days which I'm happy enough and cherish every moment with them. I'm working on Saturday and Sunday almost every week since a lot of staff where on maternity leave. I'm wonder if hubby really can think like a normal workers instead of being ''boss-minded''.

During my birthday hubby bought me a huge cake. I got to celebrate with his family and got red packets as brithday gifts. It was nice. I'm thankful for that.

I ate more muffins from Mister Donut because it was having buy 1 free 1 promotions which last for about a week. I bought it almost everyday.

Some drugstore skincare and supplement that I've taking/ using at this moment. I'll do review for the Avene cleansing water next time.

I made some splurged for my skincare from Cellnique. I just can't leave without some of them. The correct medicine that my skin need. Since my purchase was quite huge, I got to enjoy the 25% off. Happy!!! Plus, hubby sponsored some $$$ too....

Window shopping  and I came across Daiso. This japanese shop really grab people attention and the item are affordable. I bought some handicraft items, but still waiting for a really good spare time to start my art work. Very cute aren't they? I especially love their cotton puffs..... Perrrrrfect!

The Le Plaige from Longchamp..... Red !
Perfect size for shopping especially on Saturday.... no plastic bags!

Favorites of the Month

Hey everyone, is December! Gasp... time flies.

I've been enjoying November very much with travelling, working and gathering with family and friends.
Can't believe that I've been in a new industry for 5months now, work has never been easy for me, but I've try my best and still hoping it will get better and better.

Now, favorites of November. It includes products I like and dislike.

I'm still sticking with my skincare routine, nothing much change. But these are things I've been using a lot last month.

  • MBD Hyaluronic sheet mask
  • Nivea Express Hydration body lotion
  • Kose eye cream
  • Kose powder foundation
  • Benefit Benetint
  • Revlon lipbutter # cherry tart
  • Smith Rosebud salve
  • Daiso facial cotton
  • Ferrero rocher

MBD sheet mask is probably one of the sheet mask I adore the most. It is cheap and effective. Since I've dry and combination skin I decided to try on the hyaluronic acid sheet mask. Well, it is very, very hydrating. I always top up a thicker moisturizer after that and the next day, my skin looks so radiant and supple. Normally 1 box can last me for about 2 months. I use every 2-3 days and it just act like rescuer to my skin. Love it.

Nivea express hydration body lotion smells amazing, not over powering and most important it doesn't feel oily like the Nivea cream which is a nightmare for me. Upon application, it just sink into the skin and quenches my dry skin especially on my elbow and feet.Other than that, it doesn't have those weird slippery feeling during I shower in the morning. My skin loving it and I do see good results after using it.

Kose eye cream, creamy eye cream but non oily. As much as I enjoy using the eye cream, I'm still not very sure whether I will purchase the full size or not. It seems to be perfect during cold season/when I'm in air conditioning room. More suitable for night time use. But I'm enjoying using it. Tiny pea size goes long way. haha!

Kose powder foundation is a sample when I received during my purchased on Kose skincare. The foundation seems to have only one shade. It glides onto the skin nicely but beware on those dry patches, it emphasize it. I like how build-able it is but hate it when it emphasize my dry patches.

Benefit benetint. Two word to describe : simple, easy! Sometimes I just feel lazy, well I've been really lazy to put on makeup it is so time consuming. Benetint acts as lipcolor and cheek color, no zombie look. Perfect for casual day and working day. It is quite long lasting, so you'll look awake even without tons of makeup.

Revlon lipbutter #cherry tart. A sheer red lipbutter. The red tone is very buildable too. Sometimes we just feel red look so good and professional. Normally I will put it on when I wore a simple clothing, loose bouncy hair. A pop of color.

Next, Smith's rosebud salve. I would say this is a multi purpose product. It heals chapped lips very well, good for lip treatment, lip prep before any lipgloss/lipstick. I even apply this on my cuticles and heels. I see significant results the next day. Other than that, it is good on its own. It isn't sticky at all, so don't worry that your hair will stick on lips.

Other than Shiseido and Naruko cotton pad, I've finally found another good quality cotton pad. This is perfect for removing makeup using cleansing water and with toner. No worries with those annoying frizz. It cost only RM5 and it is available at Daiso.

Last but not least, my new cute toys. Ribena....
