My Pregnancy Skincare

Good morning.... I think for being able to wake up early in the morning feel so amazing. I know that are days that I dragged my body out of the bed and feel terrible too. Anyway, I hope today will be a productive day for me.

Getting into pregnancy during my 1st trimester, well, my skin feel so dry which I ended up signing a lot of intensive hydration treatment for my skin because my face feel itchy and flakes. Later on, when I entered my 2nd trimester my skin condition become better and people starts to give some good compliments on my skin condition even I've no makeup on or only have a touch of powder and eyebrow powder. However, when I entered my 3rd trimester (currently week 37) my skin gets oily easily and with little red spots (acne), also it is so true that pregnant lady got skin pigmentation easily.  Anyway, I'm enjoying the whole pregnancy process because who doesn't get excited to be a momma!

Let's see what I've for my cleansing routine...

1. Cellnique Vital Repair Cleansing Milk - since I don't really put on tons of makeup I think using this makeup remover will be just fine for my skin. I like how it smells very vanilla and coconut -ish. Pump out as a lotion to cream texture and apply all over the face. Gently massage to remove any dirts then rinse of with water or use a cleansing towelette. I like how gentle it is but I definitely wouldn't recommend for people who have heavy makeup.

2. Aveeno Brightening Cleanser - this is a drugstore products and smells so nice. I like how the liquid cleanser looks, very fine shimmery and glowy. Normally I use 1-2 pumps, mix with water and massage onto my face. It is very gentle and not to drying. I always have issue with drugstore cleanser because most of them makes my skin feels too dry and flakes, glad that this works. Also, it has a brightening effects, so it is great for dull and spotted skin.  Somehow, I don't think it has any significant brightening effect on me.

3. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser - this stuff is amazing. I mean if your budget is there, try this, you'll never regret of getting it. It foams up nicely but most important is, it doesn't stripped your skin. For those who has sensitive or dry skin, this will be something nice to have. It doesn't have any fragrance too. I will get the large tube after this little freebies ran out.

4. Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub - when your skin is dull a good facial is very helpful, but no one will have that much of time and money to visit a beauty salon regularly. I think this facial scrub is super gently and the little exfoliating bits is so fine. I mean, you certainly feel it but really not to be too worry that you'll over exfoliate your skin. It has the same smell like the Aveeno brightening cleanser. Some people like to use it daily, I don't see it will give any problems if use it daily but myself, I prefer to use it once or twice per week.

5. St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub - compare this one to the Aveeno scrub, this is way hard core. The bits are definitely bigger and grainier which is always more suitable to be used once a week or every two weeks. I like to use this in my deep cleansing routine which I will top up with a hydrating mask later on. Because the grains are very big, it is very easy to over scrub or hurt the skin if used too often. My face always feels amazingly soft and smooth after using this. And a drugstore product normally wouldn't hurt your wallet that much!

Next, move to my toner, serum, lotion and eye care. I try to keep my skincare as simple as possible because I'm really not in the mood to spend tons of my times putting this and that on my skin... but it doesn't mean I don't care about my skin. I think a good skincare is keep things simple but choose those that works well and suits for your current skin needs.

After my cleansing routine, these are what I use for my skin =]

1. Kose Moisture Skin Repair - this is the 1st thing to use after my cleansing routine. Apply this onto clean, dry face before toner. It helps to increase the hydration level of skin, keeping it soft and supple. Normally I use 1 to 2 pumps and apply it all over, then top up with toner or face mist.

2. Kose Sekkisei Toner - mine is the Save the Blue environmental friendly edition, 2pumps onto cotton pads and wipe all over the face, then use the other side, pat in the remaining toner. This toner is light and cooling which makes my skin feels very nice and soothes. Sekkisei toner is also famous for its brightening effects. I don't really worry using toner like this because the ingredients are mainly chinese herbs. Sometimes, I soaks my cotton pads or a plain cotton face mask sheets with this toner and leave it on for 5mins. It brightening effects is very obvious and my skin temperature instantly decrease!

3. Kose Infinity Protective White XX - this bottle only consist of 40ml essence. Well, I think it works more like a serum which I use this after my toner. It has a runny texture, white in color and smell like most of the Kose Infinity products. I only use this during night time because I find the texture is slightly moist for day use, especially hot days. It claims to reduce pigmentation and dark spots, well,  as a pregnant lady and my pigmentation just pop out here and there, it is very hard for me to justify whether this really helps or not. But, I can certainly tell, my pigmentation is there but hardly noticeable after I put on my sunscreen and a thin layer of face powder. Also, the area of my pigmentation is spotty not patches.

4. Kose Infinity Serum Complete I - this is the moisturizer. I think this works very well during the night time. I think it is moist enough for my skin during the night time, not too oily and keep my skin really soft and smooth to the touch. Half pump and rub between my palms before apply onto my face. This is be nice for people who have dry to combination skin but certainly not suitable for people with oily skin because it might be too rich/ overly moist. If the weather is cold and dry it can be used during the day, but in my country, I don't think it will feel that comfortable to use as a day time moisturizer. So, I only use this during the night.

5. Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturizer - oh my, my skin loves this so much! It truly keeps my skin hydrated but look fresh and clean. I think for those who have acne prone skin, this moisturizer will work just nice too. Very good skincare product for my current skin condition and budget friendly! I plan to buy another tube to use during my upcoming confinement.

6. 1st Aid Beauty Detox Eye Roller - this little glass tube comes with 8.5ml. First of all, I'm used to my Kose eye jelly as my eye area skincare and it has been so long that I didn't get hook up with any eye roller. When you wake up constantly during the night, running in and out from the toilet, I bet you the little panda will never leave your eyes. True! the next day, not only you look and size like a panda you also have puffy little CUTE eyes! So, I think this eye roller really helps my puffy eyes because the roller itself has a cool tingling effect for the eye area the massage effects also helps a lot too. This is a very small handy tube so I consider it to be travel friendly too. The liquid itself looks slightly shimmery but after apply the liquid just sink into the skin nicely and non sticky at all.

Overall, these are my little pregnancy skincare sets and reviews. Hopefully it will give some idea for mom-to-be. Just remember, pregnancy is a very enjoyable process, no matter how tired you are, do not forget to take care of you skin. The products that you use doesn't need to be high end/ expensive, as long as it works and suits your skin, just go for it. Just make sure it is safe for pregnancy will do.

Have a nice day!

Drugstore Cleansing Items: NIVEA Creme Care Line & Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser

1. Nivea Daily Essentials Creme Care Cleansing Cream Wash
I spotted this newbie when I was walking around in my local drugstore, I don't really use drugstore products unless I've read good reviews about them or I'm really in the mood to try out something new. Since my skin feels quite dry these days, I decided to try the cream wash. Well, it was totally my mistake, I never thought this is a cleansing cream. I thought it is a face wash because my eyes and brain was so focus on the cream wash thingy. So, I follow the instruction, wet my face and neck, then massaged the cleansing cream all over my face and rinse off with lukewarm water.
Unlike other cleansing cream I've tried which need to be tissue-off, this just rinse off easily with water. Wow, I am really surprise because it leaves my skin feels really soft and comfortable. Anyway, I still think this would be good if I'm on really light makeup such as sunscreen and little bit of face powder.
Besides, I also experienced a light tingling sensation when I massage it onto my face, not really sure because of the ingredients or my sensitive skin. Although the tingling is very mild, it didn't make my skin turn red or itchy.

2. Nivea Daily Essentials Creme Care Facial Cleansing Wipes 25's
I don't know it is just me or most of us, I got really lazy with using cleansing oil these days. When I'm off from work, especially if I'm on evening or afternoon shift I reached home around 10.30pm. Gosh, all I want is food and a good bath that is really quick and hassle free. Now, it makes sense that I reached cleansing wipes more and more rather than using cleansing oil, get it emulsified, bla bla bla.... Still, I'm very concern with my cleansing routine. So, I will use the Nivea Cleansing cream wash all over my face, then, I will take a piece of wipes to remove all the cleansing cream and makeup. I only use very light makeup such as sunscreen, face powder, blush and eye brow pencil. Then, I wash the wipes with water and using the same wipes, wipe my face again and again. I'm impressed with the quality, the wipe is really thick but soft and able to reuse for 3-4times. I wash it with water again and again, it still in a good condition. But then, I only use 1 wipes for 1 cleansing session. Highly recommend this and I'm going to repurchase this soon.

3. Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser
After all the cleansing cream and wipes, I will pour out a descent amount to cleanser, massage all over my face and using the same wipes (after wash with water), wipe off the cleanser. This cleanser is very gentle for people who have flaky skin or sensitive skin. It doesn't lathers nor has any scent. After that, I will splash with tons of water to ensure my face is thoroughly cleanse. Then, I'm ready for my shower.

Top Picks for Sensitive/Dry Skin

When it comes to weather changes and hormonal changes my skin reacts the most. I don't fall sick but my skin suffers a lot especially my face! But I've noticed with proper use of cleansers and boosters the redness and flakiness have clearly reduced.

I've few cleansers recommendation over here:

1. First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
This is a very gentle cleanser with a little bit of foams. The more water you add in between massage the more foams you'll get. Surprisingly, it cleanse my skin nicely and without all those pulling and drying feeling. When I have flakes around my cheeks, this cleanser doesn't sting on any dried almost wounded skin.

2. PureViVi Cleansing Lotion
Just like any cleansing water, it is the fastest way to remove any residue of makeup. I suggest to use this for quick cleansing routine but always follow up with a cleanser, I prefer double cleanse to ensure my skin is thoroughly cleanse. The cleansing water has a very similar scent like the Hada Labo cleanser. It feels cooling on the skin, so it soothes the redness and irritation. Only to use on light makeup if you're a heavy makeup user, please use a cleansing milk (mild than cleansing oil).

3. Philosophy Purity Cleanser
One of the famous cleanser, it feels like gel and almost foams free. The scent of this cleanser is very earthy more like a sandalwood scent. It removes dirt and makeup residue gently. If you prefer gel like cleanser, this will be the one to try. As you massage when cleansing your skin, the gel glides on smoothly and just rinse off with running water. The skin feels clean and fresh.

4. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
The texture is similar like the Philosophy Purity cleanser but this is way more silky and runnier. I like how it helps to remove the last trace of makeup such as lipstick stains, mascara stains under the eye area. Good to tell it doesn't sting my eyes. Yay! I find it is such a good travel companion because it helps to remove my light makeup as well.

5. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser
This stuff smells clean, nothing too fancy but works really well on my sensitive skin. Tiny bit goes a long way so my actual size of this cleanser last me for 3 months I believe. It foams up really well, so if you prefer a good foaming cleanser, this is the one.

6. Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Face Wash
As for a budget friendly cleanser, opt for this. I find that a lot of whitening cleanser is either too dry or too rich (leave a film on skin). Hada Labo cleanser actually works really well and all have the similar clean smell. Although it foams very well, it doesn't strip my skin nor making my skin feels too dry nor still dirty.

7. Shiseido Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam
Just like the name printed on the tube-- extra creamy! You actually have to squeeze it onto your palm, mix water and whisk it, ya, whisk it till it have soft peaks, just like making cake/bakery. Then use those foams to cleanse your face, tell ya it feels so comfortable and fun. My mom use this for a long, long time and I just so glad that she lend me her deluxe sample to try out.

Boosters:

1. Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub
Normal scrub but the beads are really tiny, so no issue with over scrubbing your face. When your skin is dry and patchy, facial scrub comes in, after removed the flakes and dead skin cells, apply a good amount of moisturizer and have a good sleep. Your skin will be so smooth and glowing.

2. Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask
A quick perk me up. I recommend to keep it in fridge (summer day), room temperature ( normal weather). I feel so good and soothing. After I deep cleanse my skin with all those peeling, peel-off mask, I apply a thick layer of gel mask, leave it for 15-20mins, take a wet cloth and remove the gel mask. No more redness, no more flakiness on the skin.

3. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
When I 1st come across facial oil, I think yucks! This completely change my perspective on facial oil. A good facial oil will do wonders to you skin, this is so true. It actually helps to moisturize it, some sort like a deeper layer of moisturizer. The oil just sinks into the skin, unlike other oil floats on the skin. What I like to do is use this alone after my serum or add 1 drops into my freshly pumped moisturizer, mix well and massage upwards onto face. The lavender scent is so soothing and relaxing.

Current Skincare Routine : Day Time Using Kose & Cellnique

Is skincare time... having a good skin is more important than layering your face with loads of makeup. Using products that suits to you skin types will make the skin looks healthy and glow from within. So, when it comes to skincare items, I must admit I'm the picky one, although I tend to switch my skincare item every few months, I still keep and repurchase those that works well to my current skin condition.

I'm not any skincare guru but I thought sharing some of my thought might help those who wanted to try out other skincare products/brand. Your skin will not be the same every year because we aged so do our skin, no one will have acne skin, oily skin, dry skin forever. It is about how you take care of it that makes it looks better and at its best condition. Skincare is all about try and error, I don't believe what works on others will 100% works the exact same on me. Always understand what your skin needs before committed to any skincare and if possible read some reviews online, it might help and give you an idea about a products.

For my day time skincare routine, I try to keep it as simple as possible. I will start my day with:

1. Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Cleansing Souffle
Very gentle face wash, it works wonderful on my skin. Well, I think it is important to wash my face in the morning to get rid of grim and dirt. Your skin is still working, repairing itself while you're sleeping and who can guarantee that the place we sleep at is 100% free from dirt? It might look real clean on naked eyes but there might be tiny little dirt flying all around in the air. Okay, this whole process is just mean to clean the face and removes the oil and dirt. I highly recommend this for those who have sensitive and dry skin. It is so gentle that I'm no longer worried it will my makes skin flakes.

2. Kose Sekkisei Clarifying Essence
Later on, just for double cleanse and removes dead skin cells I will use the clarifying essence. I'm on my 3rd bottle right now. All I can say is, it removes the residue that we've missed out during the cleansing routine and help to suppress the formation of pigment melanin. Sometimes, I will notice some dirt/ yellowish grim appeared on the cotton pads. Other than that, this item also help the absorption of the following skincare items.

3. Cellnique Soothing & Hydrating Lotion
After that, spritz some toner. Now, I'm using the Cellnique Soothing & hydrating lotion. I've been using this for years and even introduce to my husband. We both love it very much. It feels really refreshing and cooling probably because of the ginger and algae extract. Sometimes, I pour it on few cotton pads and leave it on my face for a quick boost. Hydration is very important, nothing will be nice without a proper dose of hydration. Our skin needs water too!

4. Kose Sekkisei Emulsion
Then, depends on how my skin feels in the morning. If I feel it is bit dry, I will go for the emulsion. The emulsion should be used on cotton pad and wipe on the the skin. This will ensure a better absorption and an even application on the skin. The emulsion is light but not oily. My skin always feels more alive after using it.
(P.S: Few years back when I started using this, I really dislike this despite of how light and runnier the consistency, I felt the whole thing just sit on my skin not sink into my skin. It always leave my skin very shiny and oily. If you feel so, please consult the SA because you are probably using it the wrong way. Now, my skin condition is different, and my current SA is so nice that she explained each steps, do and don't on the products. Now, it has a place in my heart. )

5. Kose Infinity Pure Advance Serum I
If I'm not using the emulsion, I will go for the serum I. When my skin feels right in the morning, I mean right in terms of hydration and no flakes or dry patches, I'll use this. It comes in gel formula but feels really light, non sticky at all. What makes it great is, it makes my skin feel really soft and smooth. Compare with Sekkisei emulsion this one is lighter but still perform well on my skin. Even the famous Taiwan guru Niu Er claimed that he recommend this item out of all the Pure Advance Range. I think, if you have oily skin, this one will work just nice too.

6. Kose Infinity Pure Advance Eye Jelly
A light eye gel. The scent is almost similar like the Pure Advance Serum I. I'm almost use up the whole tube now so I will include my short review over here. If you're eye area is still in a good condition, still 'youthful' ahem** this will be nice, but if your eye area is drying and have signs of aging, who might want to pass it. I picked this up months ago because I really couldn't use any eye cream as those give me tiny milia. So, I decided to give this a try. Is okay to be used in the day but it will be too light for me to use at the night time. Plus, I'm no longer a young lady. Oh boy! I've seen lines under my eye area, not nice and not fun at all.
Once I've finished this, I think I will have to hunt another eye product to be used for the day time. Go for it if you eye area doesn't have any crow feel, wrinkles, pass it if you started to see some little fine lines. I don't think it will diminish any wrinkle/lines.

7. Kose Sekkisei Skin Protect Essence Gel SPF50, PA+++
After all the skincare, apply sunscreen whether you like it or not, just apply it. Go for sunscreen with at least SPF30, PA++ the sun rays UV cause too much damage to our delicate skin. I dislike liquid sunscreen most of the time, so using a gel type like this makes my skin feel so good. I think this is one of the most hydrating sunscreen I've ever used this far. It spreads like a dream and is good it doesn't leave any white cast. You can use this on the face or all over your body. So far, I'm happy with it I'm glad that beside the Cellnique SPF30 sunscreen that seems so unbeatable, there's still another choice for me. Yay!

I hope this will help and give you an idea on my day time skincare routine. Everyone has different skincare regime because we live in different country, different age and different skin types. Just choose your skincare wisely and you shall see results from the skincare items.

The Recent Damage: Kose Member 5X points sale

I know I just upload a blog post regarding the terrible buying habit and now here I start the day with a blog post regarding my recent wallet damage post. Oh my * eyes rolling*

I noticed my skincare has running low and almost only pump out air instead of skincare products, so when there's a 5x member sale I immediately called my nearest store and as them when can I start buying things, so the lovely lady send me some details and I damaged my wallet.

I bought cleansing oil, clarifying essence, clear force and an eye cream. Oh dear, I'm not sure because of the weather/haze or my intense workout session, I have developed these little bumps on my body and they are just the most stubborn monster I've ever come across. I've tried so many things to get rid of them all doesn't seems to work at all. The SA recommended to try the Junkisui Pure Body Wash to combat body acne, I can't wait to try it and do a blog post about it. The eye cream seems to be a must for me right now, few weeks ago when I have my facial done, the beautician was shocked how serious my under eye has become. It is dry and some wrinkle (not the major one) but it has started to show early sign of ageing *sob*. This will be reviewed as well. I've been lacked of sleep lately.
As for the rest, I've tried it and decided to go for full size and replenished of stock that has finished.

Oh, before I end this post I think this Independence Day sale was wonderful, I got a set of travel size skincare, pouch, mirror and because I'm on of the 10 early birds I received a small bottle of Sekkisei toner and a power bank (Sekkisei bottle).

Have a great weekend!

A Short Review on Recent Skincare Samples & Full Size

I've never get bored when it comes to experiment skincare but sometimes things can get over bored. When the item is suitable on my skin, it works wonderful and vice versa. So, most of the time before I committed to any full size skincare, I would prefer to try out samples and read more reviews about it. As for full size items, I just bought it because of curiosity and if it doesn't work well, is either to pass it or strive hard to finish it.

1. CellAct Stimulating Gel Face Mask
I would not recommend this for those with super sensitive skin, it is more like a chemical peel but in a more gentle way. Just apply all over on clean dry skin, leave it for 10-20mins, gently rub the face until eraser dust like thing come off from the face. I do experience mild tingling sensation and my face turn red at certain part. Then, rinse off with water. The effect is good as it keeps the skin clear and soft but it can be drying if you didn't layer with enough hydrating skincare. It leans more on the pricey side so I would say it is not a must try item.

2. Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
This stuff is good as night cream. I've been tested it for quite sometimes at would love to give it a thumbs up. Sleeping in air-conditioning room without a proper moisturizer is disaster. After applied it over night, my skin still feels soft and hydrated, no oily residue, no shiny face in the next morning. Well, it doesn't break my skin nor clog my pores, everything is just nice and fine. Worth to give it a go if you're looking for a mid price night cream. In case you have a drier skin, you might fine this a tad bit light but for my current dry to combination skin, it works just nice.

3. Kiehl's Eye Alert
Waking up in the morning with puffy eye? Oh great, it just doesn't look nice. Kiehl's Eye Alert comes in gel texture and apply nicely around the eye area. It keeps the eyes feels rejuvenates but do not expect this to hide your wrinkles/crow feet. Is good to be used during the day as it is very like and comfortable. It helps a bit on the puffy eye but for long term use, I think it still need a longer time to test it out. After all, mine is just samples size.

4. Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum
I prefer to use this during the night time as the consistency is more like a water-gel, not too thick but too much of it will definitely leave the eyes area feel sticky. I enjoy looking at the serum a lot, very nice shimmery milky color. Ha! Not too much scent it feels really nice and hydrated. Then, I will follow up with my eye cream on top of it. This is just my first impression.

5. Boscia Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel
Black gel with gold shimmer, so pretty. I will only recommend this for those with oily and combination skin. It has a very nice scent and cooling effect. I like to use this during the day or hit to the gym. Not too heavy and the hydration level is just nice for people with oily to combination skin. Other than that, it comes with air tight pump that will ensure all the product being used up. Similar pump like the Kate Somervilles moisturizer.

6. Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil
Best natural antibacterial oil. Dries my acne and promotes wound healing. 1drop will go a long way, so beware. It will feel tingling/prickling if you put on wound. Not to use too much or directly all over the face as it can be too drying.

7. L&S Cell Recovery System
Just a regular eye mask. It feels nice and refreshing but doesn't really help much on wrinkles which actually make me doubt if it should name it as Cell Recovery. I got this from Korea awhile back, just a very basic and normal eye mask, nothing much result to expect.

Review: Kose Infinity Refining Massage Cream

Hello. The weather has been really extreme these days, is either rain all day long or being sunny, burning my skin all day. I'm really glad to share about my wonderful experience using this massage cream in this post.

I've been using this for months and honestly it lasts me really long because the jar is still quite full and seems barely touched/used.
Normally I cleanse my face, follow up with a deep cleansing mask (Kose SEKKISEI Clear whitening peel off mask - amazing!) then top up with this massage cream and viola! It always makes my skin softer and bouncier, this is a fact that I noticed and it will never change.
It comes with a thick cream, I will scoop a dollop of cream, warm it up between my palms and massage the entire face, the scent is very mild and soothing. When it warms up, the cream will turn into oil like consistency, not worry it will not make skin becomes more oilier, instead it nourished it nicely.
I like to massage my cheeks and forehead and when the cream touches my skin, OH MY... it feels so luxury and so pampering. I like to massage for about 10-20mins, really depends on my mood and how sleepy I am to rush into bed. Then, add some water and gently massage again, and slowly rinse off with water. I suggest to use a cloth because it makes the removing part so much faster and easier.
Later on, follow the rest of my skincare routine. I'm really amaze how well it works on my skin, it never fails me because it just makes my skin feels, looks so much better the next morning as if I've had an expensive facial treatment.
It is a weekly treat for me, and it seems to be a must for me after the peel off mask, definitely hydrates and nourishes my skin. Sometimes, I bring it together with me for a quick hand facial at the Kose facial counter, it feels so, so good.

Price: RM242.70 (include GST)

I highly recommend this product especially for those who are in their mid 20s and want to try some anti-aging products, off course people who have more mature skin are recommend to try this too. It is such an amazing and wonderful massage cream, not oily at all. 1 jar definitely able to last more than 6months, it all depends how much and how frequent you use it.

Give it a try, I'm sure you will like it!

Most Frequently Used Products At The Moment

Oh dear, I've been using these everyday, if not, every other day. Some are samples and my recent purchase (March purchase). So let's see what makes they so special and able to conquer part of my heart.

I have 3 face powder & 3 lip products and few skincare items to share

- Kose Supreme Sekkisei Supreme Powder Foundation #OC 410
Medium to almost full coverage. I should be a shade lighter but #OC405 was probably discontinued, so the SA recommend me to get this shade. It is slightly darker but not too obvious. However, it does oxidized after 4-5hours. It applies like a dream, smooth and non cakey.

- Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact #O20
Sheer coverage. I love this one so much. The shade match almost perfectly with my skin. It leaves a beautiful sheen after application. Skin looks so nice and flawless with a hint of glow. I don't even have to put on highlighter. Now, I see why my mom has been a loyal Shiseido fans for almost 30years. Love it!

- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder  #001 Translucent
Affordable drugstore pressed powder. Perfect for touch up. Most important is wallet friendly for beginners and students. I noticed it has a soft powder scent and the imprint is just lovely.

- Clinique Chubby Stick baby tint #02 Coming Up Rosy
One reason I got this is because its lovely color. Pretty, soft and feminine. In terms of moisturizing, I think it is just normal, nothing too outstanding nor wow me. The only issue I have is the weird scent, not sure if all the Clinique Chubby Stick has this kind of weird scent.

- IOPE Water Fit lipstick #44 Forever Pink

Still remember the K-drama ~My Love From the Star 来自星星的你? This is one of the lipstick that been used by Jun Ji-Hyun. A lovely friend helped me got this, actually she is the one who recommend this shade to me. At first I was really skeptical because of the bright colour, but it turn out to be sheer yet buildable. For a natural look, I dabbed it onto the lips. I am and it will probably take me a long, long time to jump into the neon, bright lipstick bandwagon. Nice colour and worth to give it a try

- Baby Sebamed Lipbalm
Life savor in the office.

- Kose Sekkisei Toner
semi milky toner, very watery but cooling. It makes the skin feel so nice and soothing. I even use this as a quick face mask. Soak few cotton pads with the toner, and put onto face. If I'm not mistaken the formula remain the same after 30 years since it launched.

- Kose Infinity Pure Advance Serum I

A gel moisturizer, control the oil nicely but doesn't gives the super matte look. I like how it leaves and stay on my skin, totally non sticky and no issue with balling problem. Sometimes when you use gel moisturizer, you'll noticed those weird eraser dust like things appear on skin. I have 1 full size in my skincare storage box. Haha!

- Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream
This is actually a sample given by the SA. Tiny amount last a long time. This seems to be the new no.1 products on Kiehl's Malaysia rack. I like how it smell, really soothing, the jasmine scent isn't too strong, it just add a perfect hint of scent to the whole product. I actually find it is quite hydrating but non oily. I glides on like a dream, almost like a butter been spread nicely onto a piece of bread. Gosh... my illustration is really funny. Oopss... I wake up with soft, dewy skin the next morning. Sometimes, I will reduce some of the amount and drops 1-2 drops of Kiehl's Mid Night Recovery oil, warm it with the cream between my palms and gently massage on my skin. It feels so luxurious and relax.

- Kose Sekkisei Sun Protect Essence Gel SPF50, PA++++
I think besides than my regular use sunscreen (cream texture) which I love, this is another sunscreen that reserve a sit in my sunscreen list. It is gel texture, non sticky, non oily and it actually didn't have much colour, so don't expect it will cover/brighten the skin. What I like about it is not only texture, the moisturizing effects that leaves on my face is truly wonderful. It hydrates it and tame those dry flakes, oh yes, I put on some face powder after that and my skin still looks nice and hydrates. No sign of dry flakes been detected. And I don't need to worry about white cast that makes my face, neck, hands look so much different from one another.

That's all for this time, how about you? Any products that you've been using almost every single day like I do? Share it, I would love to know about them...

Review: Biotherm Pure Skin Effect Hydrating Gel

I bought the Biotherm moisturizer awhile ago, I never though to give it a review because I want to give myself a little more time to test it out. So, here's what I think about it.

Firstly, the packaging is really easy to travel and carry around, not too big to fit into my little skincare pouch. Great thing is the pump, it just pumps out the right amount, normally I use 1-2pumps for the entire face. I like the consistency, not to sticky nor too thin, it absorbs nicely, sinks really well into my skin, leaving no residue behind. Some hydrating gel tends to leave a thin film onto skin, but I don't have any issue with this. Plus, leaving my skin nice and soft to the touch !

I would recommend it for acne prone skin, oily to combination but not for super dry skin. My skin condition changes from time to time, which is why I have different types of moisturizer, and they will be used based on what my skin needs and skin condition is. Even if I'm having drier skin (not super dry), I still can use this without any issue, just make sure to layer well with another hydrating moisturizer. Or I only use this in the morning when I hit to the gym, it controls extra oil secretion yet keeping my skin matte but not dry. But for my current dry skin, I will keep it in minimal use as I seriously need a more hydrated and denser moisturizer to combat some of my drier patch. In case I really want to use this, I will only use in day time and outdoor, not in air conditioner room.

The only issue I have is the scent, it seems to be a bit too much for me, it lingers for quite sometimes to be completely fade off. If you're sensitive to scented item, you might want to avoid this.

Bottom line, it is a good but I will not consider as the best hydrating gel for oily combination skin (which I have for the pass few months). Long term use definitely dried out my skin because my skin condition changes from time to time based on lifestyle and weather. Still a nice one to have but definitely not in my MUST HAVE list.

Review: Kose Pure Advance Oil Cleansing Gel

Last month I tried out my newly bough cleansing gel from Kose. I used to remove my makeup with the Shu Uemura cleansing oil but then I decided to give this a tried.

I'm using this every night to remove my impurities and makeup after the hectic working hours. I think it works well, removes my makeup and eyeliner nicely without being too harsh to my drier skin.
I would say it is efficient enough for a not so heavy makeup user. I don't consider myself a heavy makeup user although I tend to buy way more than I need and I should.

My everyday makeup only consist of face powder/ sunblock + bbcream, concealer, eye brow pencil/powder, lipstick and a blusher, so I don't find it is too hard or too stubborn to be removed.
I find it removes gently and thoroughly without making my face feel tight and tug. It keeps my skin feels soft and supple which is the one thing I really enjoy and love. It does has a nice calming scent which doesn't linger too long after use, totally no issue with the scent part.

It comes in a light lilac, pink squeeze tube, easy to dispense. Normally I tend to squeeze out more due to the soft tube packaging but I don't consider I'm wasting my product. I will massage between my palm, sort of warm up the cleansing oil, then massage onto the skin. The gel will slowly turn into oil and remove all those dirt from my face, very easy and fuss free. Then, add some water and continue to massage into a milky like consistency, rinse off. Done! Sometimes, when I put on a heavy cat eye, I will use cleansing wipes to remove everything after the cleansing oil was completely melted and dissolved all the makeup. Still, it feels clean and fresh.

On traveler's side, I love this because totally no worry of oil spills everywhere inside my luggage. It will not leak unless it isn't close properly. I will definitely bring this whenever I travel whether on vacation, to work or back to my parents' house.

Overall, I give this a yes and will repurchase whenever I run out. The price range is almost the same like the Shu oil just that this one is more travel friendly and more gentle on my current dry skin.

Best Skincare and Short Brief on My Skincare Routine in 2014

Hello everyone.... this is going to be a long, long post. So, get yourself a cup of tea or any beverages, sit down and enjoy.
2014 has coming to an end and throughout the year I've tested quite a number of skincare from drugstore to high end (max. price RM300). Even until today, I still don't think there's a need for me to splurge such amount of money on a single piece of skincare. Not saying that I'm not going to, but at this moment, I don't feel like I need it. But I do splurge when it comes to sale, value sizes and bonus point. Oh, before I started please be informed that I've sensitive skin, oily in the T zone, dryer on U-zone, more leaning towards oily and combination skin type. So, in case you have similar skin type like mine, items I mentioned might suits you but we all know what suits me doesn't or 100% fits well to everyone.

( some items mentioned aren't in the photo)

Cleansing Oil
Shu Uemura Anti Oxi cleansing oil. I just really like the thick texture. It just melt down all dirt and gunk on my face. I also noticed it helps to unclog my pores.

Cleansing Lotion
Simple cleansing lotion works just fine for me. Is light yet effective and most important it doesn't irritate my skin. However, do note that this only for very light makeup such as tinted moisturizer or sunscreen.

Cleansing Water
Avene Micellar Lotion Makeup Remover. This is just perfect for the lazy me. Sometimes I just feel too tired to go trough all the cleansing steps before heading to bed. This cleansing water able to remove the stubborn lip stain from my lip balm without giving trouble rubbing my lips multiple times. It feels very soothing and comfortable too. Not drying or irritating at all.

Face Cleanser
(i) Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser. This is wonderful, it lathers up nicely after mixing with some water. I like how thorough it cleanse my skin without stripping away the skin natural oil. My skin feels clean but not dry. It works well with my Clarisonic Mia too.

(ii) Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser. This one feels more like a runny gel, I like the earthy scent (if that make sense) 'cause I smell sandalwood scent in it. Very gentle yet effective. When my skin is dry with patches, this cleanser literally keep everything under control.
(iii)Cellnique Seaweed Cleansing Gel. This is very cooling and refreshing. I like to use it in the morning/ after workout/ hot weather. As much as the cooling scent wow me, I need to mention this product is slightly drying for my skin, especially on my dryer part such as cheek and chin. Anyway, I still really like it, just top up a little bit more hydrating stuff later on will do.

Toner
(i)Cellnique Soothing & Hydration Lotion. I've been using it for 2years, it just works really nice in soothes my sensitive skin. It smells like ginger water but with a cooling sensation. After cleansing, spritz it on face, pat, pat, pat and I'm done. It can be used as a quick pick me up face mask as well. Just soak in the cotton pat and leave onto face for 5mins and done. Light and non sticky. I will say this works more like a soothing toner rather than a hydrating toner.
(ii) Kiehl's Calendula Toner. A real flower in your toner. What?! but I just love it. Very gentle and hydrating. Basically it soothes my sensitive skin and red patches which sometimes can be very irritating and itchy. I will soak my cotton pad with it and wipe all over my face, turn the other side and start patting.

Essence/ Serum
(i) Kiehl's Corrective Dark Spot Solution. This is amazing, it just makes my acne scars/marks getting less and less visible. It smells amazing too. However, I'm not sure if it really works on my pigmentation. So far so good on targeting my acne marks.
(ii) Olay White Radiance Brightening Intensive Serum. I've received so many compliments from friends and beautician on my skin tone after using this. It brightens up my complexion and also lightens up the whole complexion. It is light and non sticky, so no issue with balling up after apply moisturizer. This is more like a lightening and brightening serum.

Moisturizer
(i) Simple Oil Balancing Moisturizer. I just can't stop repurchase it over again. It works very well for me, giving me a matte finish. As a daily day time moisturizer I think it works quite well and very budget friendly.
(ii) Biotherm Pure-fect Skin. I just use it for few months, it works effectively in controlling excess sebum and acne breakout. I don't use it every day because I find it slightly drying on several spots on my face. However, as a acne suppressor I think it works well.

Cream
Kiehl's Ultra Facial cream. Thick but not too oily. Heals most of my dry patches without breakout. A good night cream for my skin in air-cond room.

Massage cream
Kose Infinity Refining Massage cream. I've never buy massage cream till I have it out I'm amazed by the outcome. So basically I use it once a week or 2 weeks after deep cleansing with peeled of mask. Scoop out a generous amount of cream, massage all over the face, it feels thick at first, as I slowly massage the cream actually breaks down into a oil that glides smoothly on face. The scent is very lovely too. Then tissue or wash off, my skin feels instantly hydrates and plump.

Facial Oil
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Smells like lavender, very soothing. A little goes a long way. I think it makes my skin glow.

Eye cream
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye Concentrate. A little goes a long way, I expect it to be very heavy, but it turned out to be light and blendable. I like the texture and it absorbs very nicely around my eye area. I don't think it helps in dark circles but keeping further wrinkles around the eyes. The only matter me the most is the scent, a lil bit strong old lady scent.

Masks
(i)Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask. I bought this few month ago, the texture is very thick and jelly. I see significant soothing and hydrating effects after use. Sometimes I apply a thicker layer on the top of all my skincare and leave it overnight. My skin feels plump and soft.
(ii) Laneige Water Sleeping Pack. A cerulean jelly mask, perfect for a lazy night. Is fast, simple and easy.

Sheet Mask
(i) Naruko. Naruko always come up with great quality sheet mask. I do find them works very well on my skin. I have a range of Naruko masks and even though they might be targeting for different skin concern, I find them very hydrating and non sticky. Well, it absorbs very well and thoroughly into my skin. Each type makes my skin feel great, plump and brightens.
(ii) My Beauty Diary -Apple Polyphenol. Among all the ranges it has, this Apple Polyphenol works the best for me. It shrinks my pores, keeping it tight, non oily yet non drying. 1box=10pieces. Just love them so much.

My skincare routine was short to pieces. Although I might be switching from products to products, I still using the same skincare steps.  I think keeping to the basic is just nice but adding some extra time and effort make a huge difference.

1. I cleanse my face with cleansing oil most of the time. But I do switch to cleansing lotion or water whenever I only have sunscreen or in lazy mood.
2. Always use Clarisonic Mia to clean my face during the night time.
3. Apply toner using cotton pad, it still can lift up some dirt that are not been remove. And cotton pad will ensure the toner being disperse better all over the face and pores

4. Layer with serum, sometimes I use more than 1 just really depends what my skin needs actually.
5. Focusing on hydration, even oily skin needs hydration and moisturizer. Dryer skin condition need thicker cream/ gel cream/ facial treatment oil.
6. I use sheet mask/ gel mask every other day or 3 times a week. Just in case my skin is terribly dry, I will use a sleeping mask every single night .
7. Apply sunscreen after all the basic skincare.

** additional - use a gentle face scrub 3-4 times a week, I think it makes my skin looks clearer and products absorb better. Massage the entire face at least once a week, it makes my skin so smooth, soft, supple and bouncier. **

Review: Drugstore Skincare Products

Couple weeks ago, I did some mini haul from the drugstore, keeping in mind that there are goodies available in drugstore. I've tried Naruko skincare products before, and seriously I think it works quite nicely and suits my skin. I decided not to go too, too crazy on the drugstore skincare, so I only picked up the Naruko Magnolia firming and brightening toner, Naruko Marjoram & lavender peeling gel, Naruko Rose & botanic HA moisturizer and Clinelle Thermal Spring water.

Well, since I'm such a skincare maniac, here's my thoughts about them.

Starts with Naruko Magnolia firming and brightening toner. It is has a soft, soothing flora scent, nothing special despites of the liquid serum like consistency. It applies nicely without drying out my skin, thanks for the alcohol free ingredients. The toner absorbs into my skin nicely without leaving making my skin feel sticky nor heavy. I do layer more skincare items later on for better hydration.
In terms of firming and brightening, I can't tell how well it works, simply because I'm quite fair and yet to see any significant aging signs on my skin. Well, keep my finger crossed it helps my sagging skin (that I didn't notice).

Next, I decided to talk about the Clinelle Pure Swiss Thermal Spring water. I have to say I don't like this at all. Firstly, the mist didn't spray out properly, water dripping around the nozzle then the whole bottle. Seriously, I'm freaking angry especially on those days I want to hydrate my skin quickly. Another thing, it stings my face, I've never encounter any issues with my Avene face mist, Uriage face mist, name it most of the French drugstore face mist that available in drugstore. At first it stings, then my skin turns red and warm, probably due to sensitive or allergy reaction. Oh my...this is a total disappointment. I will not repurchase it.

As for Naruko Marjoram & lavender peeling gel, thumbs up. I enjoying using it because it is so fast. The product is easy to use, hassle free. The scent is slightly awkward but the outcome is pretty good. My skin feels smooth and soft. The skincare products that apply on later sinks into my skin nicely. Anyway, I don't think it should be use too frequent, I only use it once and maximum up to twice a week only. The brightening effect is there but doesn't last long, I would say around 1-2days. This peeling gel is only remove dead skin cells but it will not unclog pores, so if you've serious pores clogged issues, please use face scrub and mud mask (just my suggestion).

I like to keep the best for last. The new version of  Naruko Rose & Botanic HA aqua cubic moisturizer EX.
Talking about rose, the rose scent smells adorable but it might be a bit over powering for some people. I like the texture very much, is more like a thick serum but apply onto skin like a dream. Most important is it doesn't feel oily nor sticky. My skin certainly feels more plump and hydrated after application.

Do you have any drugstore skincare recommendation? I would love to know and give them a try !

Review: Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil & Argan Oil

Weather changes can be good and bad sometimes. Good, because it is either turn into the comfortable type, bad because skin needs time and more nutrient/ hydration/ oil to protect it from skin disaster.

I've been a huge cleansing oil lovers as well as essential oil lovers for few years now. When I saw Josie Maran having this travel set, it immediately caught my attention and the tiny devils inside me. Oh, I must have this. Ha...

Talking about the argan oil, many beauty gurus have been raving about how great it feels on the skin and hair. Well, I do survey 1st before put in my order. I'm keeping my fingers crossed before try it out. Well, 1 month test, I think it passed with merit.

My thoughts for the argan oil:
I thought it smells terrible actually, because those vitamin E oil smells terrible and oil most of the times has those old lady scent which scares me off. Anyway, this Josie Maran argan oil doesn't has too much scent actually, thank God it is quiet light weight and absorb nicely into the skin.
I like to have 2-3 drops onto my palm, rub it and apply onto the ends of my hair. I can't tell if it really helps to prevent split ends but my hair do feel smooth afterwards and less frizzy. I also notice my long hair has become less tangle.
As for my skin, since I've oily to combination skin, I will not simply putting oil onto my face unless the oil is really meant only for face. I apply the oil onto my skin especially on area such as elbow, feet and cuticles. It helps to prevent dry patches keep it soft and supple. Unlike other oils which I've tried before, usually leave an oily and sticky residue on skin, but with this argan oil, I found it absorb really well without leaving any footprints or hand prints on places I've contacted with.
The travel size itself contains 15mL of pure argan oil which is quiet a lot for me, after all, I really didn't use that much. 2-3drops is just enough for my hair or even whole body.

My thoughts for the cleansing oil:
I don't really bother whether the cleansing oil is organic or not, most important is it how well it can cleanse my skin after the whole day with dirts, oils and makeup sitting on my face.
The oil is very thick and I do feels it heats up a little bit when rub onto my skin. Not sure if everyone have this heating issue, but I suppose it is activated when contacted with skin. It has a strong orange/citrus/flower scent, at first it was really nice to sniff but day by day, I find the scent is a little bit irritating because for me, it smells like children cough/flu syrup. Well, working in the pharmacy I don't think I want to sniff more medicine scent after reach home. It is just way too crazy I think. Anyway, I'm always good in tolerating with scent, so as long as it didn't make me sneeze, I'm still okay with it.
It removes my makeup very nicely and once it contacted with water, it emulsifies immediately. Sometimes, I just use this cleansing oil without follow up with another foam cleanser. Once it is emulsifies, it turns into a thick almost like a gel cleanser white cast on the skin, then, continue massage with more water and then rinse off. My skin feels really clean, I mean squeaky clean afterwards.
I keep the tiny bottle with me because next time, I can dispense my other cleansing oil into it. The tiny bottle is easy to carry around and perfect for travel. Plus, I just need to press the cap and it is ready to be used.

Overall, this Josie Maran Argan Oil set is amazing. I like the idea of include 2 products into 1 tiny travel set so that customers can try out 2 things at once. The products work well for me, I'm not sure if I will repurchase it, but still it is a good set to try out.

Is All About My Drugstore Products Adventure For The Month of May

Hello... well, today is all about drugstore products... and seriously, I think I liking them a lot.

So, start with the stuffs in my bathroom

  1. Sunsilk Damage Reconstruction Conditioner - cheap and effective, leaving my hair soft and fluffy
  2. Tsubaki Head Spa Extra Cleansing with Essential Oil - deep cleanse my scalp, leaving a cool sensation before rinse off. I feel it strips off my natural hair oil, so after use, I must follow up with a conditioner. Use once a week. Well, no more itchy/oily scalp for now.
  3. Nivea In-shower conditioner (Normal skin)-  after shower, just lather it all over the body, leave it for about 1min, and rinse off. I think it is quite fast and easy, but I'm not really liking the sticky hint left behind. So.... I give this a thumb down.
  4. Neutrogena Deep Cleanse (Brightening, Mulberry) Cleansing Foam - I'm in love with this, gentle yet effective. I actually got quite a lot compliments on my skin lately. It smells amazing too. The dispenser pump out just the perfect amount of foam for my entire face :)
  5. Lactacyd Feminine Wash (Nourish) - seriously I think this works better for me as compare with the other versions. Smell fresh and just keeps my V clean. I'm a loyal user.
  6. Simple Kind to Skin Exfoliating Body Wash - no scent and more like a gel consistency. It contains loofah which works as the exfoliator. I think daily use is okay, but if you are looking for a higher strength of exfoliation for the body, this is slightly too gentle.
  7. Dove Instense Repair Shampoo - one word : perfect ! Even without using conditioner my hair is still soft and smooth. Well, so far so good, I didn't see any split ends appear.

Next move to the face part: skincare!

  1. Olay White Radiance Brightening Intensive Serum 50mL - it just does what it says. My skin become fairer, seriously and my beautician was keep on asking me what I've done to my skin. lol. It applies easily, just 2-3pumps and it absorbs quite fast too, no oily at all.
  2. Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturizer - I'm just so addicted to this thing. Basically, it just keeps my skin clean and matte but not drying.
  3. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer - I only use this at night, not every night but 3-4 times a week, when I'm too tired to layer my skincare and just want to have a quick moisturizer. Squeeze, rub between my palm, spread onto face. Viola! Somehow, I really not liking to massage it on my face because I notice the longer I massage/apply onto my face, the vitamin E scents become stronger. Hmm, I just not enjoy that scent.
  4. Palmer's Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Lip Butter - nice name, nice scent, nice texture
  5. Sunplay SPF60, PA+++ - first of all, I got this simply because the lil chick is so cute, yellow is cheerful color. The sunscreen itself is runny, shake well before use. Just like a regular sunscreen.

And now for my feet. Keep it simple. I received a sample size of Ellgy cracked heel cream last month which came in with my monthly must read magazine, so I tried it and miracle happens. I noticed my heels become smoother, well, obviously I don't have the perfect "NO CRACKED HEELS". So 1 day application keep it hydrate, 2nd day application I started to see less noticeable cracked heels, and some dry patches have been cleared off. Once the little sample finished, I quickly bought a tube, just so happy to tell, it heals my cracked heels! Wheeee ~~
(p.s -- the socks is perfect in size, stretchable and breathable, I wear it after apply the cream)

I even use drugstore products before heading to work:

  1. Clinelle Powder Compact (Ivory) - super natural on my skin, very flattering. Most important is the matte finish, not cakey, no problem for my pores size too.
  2. Revlon Brow Crayon (Dark Brown) - almost matches my original brow color. 2-3 strokes, and use the spoolie attached, and I got a nice and natural looking brow.
  3. Za Ever Brow (Natural Brown) - super easy to use of compare with the Revlon Brow Crayon, totally dump proof, perfect for beginners. I also like the little spoolie attached. Well, I think I just meet my drugstore holy grail for my brows. As much as I like my Revlon one, I can assure you, I like this very, very, verrrrrrry much! Thanks Cynthia for recommend this to me.
  4. Za Perfect Fit Concealer (02) - just nice. Well, I might looking for another brand to try out. So far, I'm quite satisfy with it.

Lastly, is all about my lotions. When you stay in a cool, dry condition, whether you like it or not, you must have lotions, so do I.

1. Vaseline Hand and Nails Lotion- Smell good. Very smooth and soft, non oily.
2. Nivea Intensive Moisture Body Milk - I can't believe I'm actually liking this more and more. Really soothes my dry skin, bye bye itchy skin and Hello silky soft skin.
3. Vaseline Total Moisture Nourishing lotion - I use this a long time ago, probably during my University years. Basically I like Vaseline lotions, smells good and non sticky. The only Vaseline lotion I can't use is the pink bottle lotion : Perfect 10, B3, Whitening... the list goes on. I think I'm allergic to the perfume in it, making my skin very itchy.

Wow.... such a long, long journey and story to tell about my drugstore products adventure. I guess, that's all for today. I like using drugstore products, they are affordable and quite efficient. Looking forward for more drugstore products adventure in the future.

Have a nice day!

Review: Naruko Arbutin Intensive Brightening Mask

Is time for my another review for the Naruko sheet masks. I just think they work wonderful to my skin. I've decided to try out almost all of the Naruko Essential line sheet masks simply because they are amazing!

Without further ado, here's my thoughts for the arbutin intensive brightening mask. Same as my previous posts regarding about the Naruko sheet masks, it comes in 5pcs/box with a very affordable price and great quality. Someone asked me if Naruko sheet masks is better than the famous MBD (My Beauty Dairy) mask, so here's my answer. Yes, I personally do think it is better and the cloth itself is thicker and able to stay on my face for about 20-30mins without drying out and still remain very wet and soaked with all the essence. If you are looking for more quantity go for MBD but if you don't mine about that, you can give the Naruko sheet masks a try. Just to clarify, I do like MBD but if I'm looking for a more luxurious one, I'll go for Naruko sheet mask. Price wise, I think it is almost the same, doesn't gives too much burden to my wallet.

I don't think I've noticed an incredible outcome after used, all I can tell is,  it is really hydrating and smells good. My skin definitely feels more plump and less oily.

As compare with the Naruko VC Brightening & Deep Hydrating Mask, I think that one works better and truly can notice a huge difference before and after. Arbutin is marked as one of the key ingredients in brighten up the complexion but for this, I'm sorry to tell, it just didn't show any significant difference.

Overall, it is still good for the intense hydration feel to my skin. I don't think I'll repurchase this, instead, I'll just stick my hands on the VC Brightening & Deep Hydrating series, simply because it seems to work more effective to my skin.

Have a great weekends ahead~

Empties: Mainly Skincare + Short Reviews

Hello.... it has been a month I did not blog, well, sometimes I just need a break for holiday and get myself recharge with more positives energies! woo~~

Since it is the new month, I thought to start my blog post with products empties and then I will have more posts coming up.

1. Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturizer
- this stuff is amazing, I used it for quite awhile and I think this is my 3rd tube. I like how it moisturize my skin without leaving any stickiness/oil residue. Skin feels hydrates but not oily, most important is it gives a nice matte finish and pores do look better.

2. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - HERE (I've reviewed it in my previous post)
- amazing texture and heals/lightens acne scars and pigmentation

3. Cellnique Advance Bio Renewal Masque
- my 3rd jar, I like how it unclogs my pores, it is a scrub mask. You apply it onto face, leave it for 5-10mins,
wet your palm, massage and rinse off.  I don't recommend it uses on sensitive skin as it contains AHA. Upon application, a mild tingling sensation is normal, so no worries. I find it helps brightens the complexion too. Skin feels really, really smooth after that. Down side, quite pricey.

4. Kiehl's Blemish Control Daily Skin Clearing Treatment - HERE ( I've reviewed it awhile back)
- saviour for the skin disaster aka zits

5. Cellnique D'sensi Calming Gel Cream
- good for dry, dehydrated, itchy, sensitive skin. Sooth my skin during its disaster time especially travelling and cold, dry season. Normally I use this at night, overall it is a great product. I used to love this very much, but as my skin condition changes, I only use it during night time. Down side, quite pricey.

6. Kose Moisture Skin Repair
7. Kose Infinity Astringent
8. Kose Infinity Pure Advance Essence Lotion I
 - HERE ( review for Kose items)

9. Cosmecnique Bio-oxygen Mousse Cleanser - HERE ( I've reviewed it awhile back)
- very gentle, mild yet effective cleanser. I'm currently addicted with mousse cleanser, I think they cleanse well and less hassle.

That's all for my empties. Good thing, bye for the empties, yay for the new skincare items and more reviews to come.

Review: Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Almost pass the 1st quarter of the year, you can notice many cosmetic companies started to launching their new/ improved versions of whitening, brightening skincare into the market, I believe everyone went a lil bit crazy with it, so do I.

Since I'm living in a hot and warm climate country where we have sunshine throughout the day whitening/brightening skincare does come into one of my skincare priority. The reason simply because I want to prevent and get rid of sun spots, freckles, hyper pigmentation, uneven skin tone etc.

Clearly Corrective™ DARK SPOT SOLUTION is a fast-acting serum that evens skin tone and diminishes dark spots to impart overall radiance and luminosity to the skin:

• In as little as 2 weeks, 55% of women clinically demonstrated a significant reduction in dark spot intensity.
• In 4 weeks, 69% of women clinically demonstrated a continued reduction in dark spots intensity and 73% of women showed a significant reduction in acne scarring.  Reduction in other skin discolorations was clinically evident among 69% of women.
• In 8 weeks, 87% of women clinically demonstrated more uniform skin tone to deliver breakthrough clarity.
• With continued daily usage, Clearly Corrective helps to prevent the formation of future dark spots and other skin discolorations.

(the description and products details obtained from Kiehl's website)

What I've noticed and experienced with the product after 1 month usage?

Before that, one very potent ingredient is Vitamin C which helps to lighten up the skin tone. I am and still a little bit confused why the content didn't packed into an amber bottle, plus Vitamin C oxidize pretty fast after contacted with oxygen in the air. Previously, I tried out Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex and the whole thing turn into yellow and darker yellow throughout the way finishing it because it contains Vitamin C.
I read from the internet, Kiehl's is smart enough to use a different chemical arrangement Vitamin C, which makes it more stable and only activated after contacted with skin, smart! Anyway, I do hope the content will comes with an amber bottle, protect it from sunlight, make it more stable and long lasting.

Now, lets jump into my review. The product does has a very unique scent, I'm not really sure what it is but the scent is very similar like lavender, very soothing. It dispenses easily and the texture is water-based serum but not too watery. I only use this during the night time together or layering with other serum. Reason I use it at night because I'm worried it will cause skin irritation if exposed under the sun. Don't get me wrong, I didn't have any irritation at all when using it. So, it is mild for sensitive skin but still very effective in delivering the corrective dark spot tittle.

The product absorbs easily without feeling sticky at all and best thing about it, it hydrates my skin too! I'm not too sure if it lightens or vanquish my sun spots, but I'm very sure it has reduced my acne scare whether is old or new ones... yay! Other than that, it does helps to brighten up my overall skin complexion. I think, I just need to be more patient and use it more diligently for a longer period to see if it kills my sun spots.

Some people told me it should only use on targeted area, but I didn't, I use it all over my face. I think serum should be used all over and target treatment such as sun spot cream/gel should only be placed on top of the affected area. Do correct me if I'm wrong with this.

I certainly can see I'll be repurchased this when it almost hit pans. It is wonderful and my skin just looks better, brighter and glow after using it. By the way, normal volume is 30ml, I just spotted from Kiehl's website, they are releasing 50ml jumbo size, I'm eyeing on that!

Overall, this is really good, I don't consider this product is cheap, but still at an affordable one to try out in the market. Plus, Kiehl's is really generous with giving samples, try it and if you like it, you can always purchase after trying the samples. Most of the time, I will try their samples 1st before purchasing unless, I've read really good and persuading reviews, then I might consider to buy the full size before trying it.
