Drugstore Cleansing Items: NIVEA Creme Care Line & Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser

1. Nivea Daily Essentials Creme Care Cleansing Cream Wash
I spotted this newbie when I was walking around in my local drugstore, I don't really use drugstore products unless I've read good reviews about them or I'm really in the mood to try out something new. Since my skin feels quite dry these days, I decided to try the cream wash. Well, it was totally my mistake, I never thought this is a cleansing cream. I thought it is a face wash because my eyes and brain was so focus on the cream wash thingy. So, I follow the instruction, wet my face and neck, then massaged the cleansing cream all over my face and rinse off with lukewarm water.
Unlike other cleansing cream I've tried which need to be tissue-off, this just rinse off easily with water. Wow, I am really surprise because it leaves my skin feels really soft and comfortable. Anyway, I still think this would be good if I'm on really light makeup such as sunscreen and little bit of face powder.
Besides, I also experienced a light tingling sensation when I massage it onto my face, not really sure because of the ingredients or my sensitive skin. Although the tingling is very mild, it didn't make my skin turn red or itchy.

2. Nivea Daily Essentials Creme Care Facial Cleansing Wipes 25's
I don't know it is just me or most of us, I got really lazy with using cleansing oil these days. When I'm off from work, especially if I'm on evening or afternoon shift I reached home around 10.30pm. Gosh, all I want is food and a good bath that is really quick and hassle free. Now, it makes sense that I reached cleansing wipes more and more rather than using cleansing oil, get it emulsified, bla bla bla.... Still, I'm very concern with my cleansing routine. So, I will use the Nivea Cleansing cream wash all over my face, then, I will take a piece of wipes to remove all the cleansing cream and makeup. I only use very light makeup such as sunscreen, face powder, blush and eye brow pencil. Then, I wash the wipes with water and using the same wipes, wipe my face again and again. I'm impressed with the quality, the wipe is really thick but soft and able to reuse for 3-4times. I wash it with water again and again, it still in a good condition. But then, I only use 1 wipes for 1 cleansing session. Highly recommend this and I'm going to repurchase this soon.

3. Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser
After all the cleansing cream and wipes, I will pour out a descent amount to cleanser, massage all over my face and using the same wipes (after wash with water), wipe off the cleanser. This cleanser is very gentle for people who have flaky skin or sensitive skin. It doesn't lathers nor has any scent. After that, I will splash with tons of water to ensure my face is thoroughly cleanse. Then, I'm ready for my shower.

All I Have Been Using Are These Drugstore Brushes

Brushes... I think this year I'm really into brushes because most of my makeup palette doesn't come with brushes and sometimes, I'm the one who didn't like the brushes attached with the palette.
Since I'm just started with brushes, I've no intention to start of with any highly recommended brushes or any brands. So, I ordered a set of studio brush from E.L.F which is way more cheaper than any branded brushes in the market, then I started to have some other brushes from drugstore brand, seriously, I think they work just nice, nothing much to say but thumbs up.

Here's are the brushes which I'm using probably daily and these are probably my favourites and my most used brushes. Please don't quote me because I'm not a makeup artist that know what brush should use for this and that, I just use any brushes that works on me and the products.

 1. Real Technique Contour Brush
I really like this, very soft and dense, I normally use it for my foundation and blushes. Yes, I don't use it as contour brush, I'm not a person who must contour my face everyday and till today, I'm still someone who just simply put on my makeup without contour. When it comes to brush cleansing, thank God, no shedding or whatsoever, it just maintain the same. The only thing I want to emphasize is, it is really good for blending in products, everything works just nice and evenly without any patchy spot.

 2. E.L.F Small Angled Brush
This is my must have daily brush, I only use this for my brows. It picks up quite a good amount of brow powder and works really well. Because it is an angled brush, it makes my filling brows process hassle free. Besides, I also recommend this to use as an eye liner brush. Dip it into any color you like and gently swipe across the lash line, it can create a very nice and almost precise cat eye wink.

 3. E.L.F Blush Brush
My favourite blush brush, very soft and good quality. It picks up just the right amount of blushes. You can either pat in the blush or swipe the blush onto the cheeks area. I also like the size of the brush, the size sits just nice, the right size for my cheeks so no worry if the blush was applied all over the face. I prefer to use the patting motion as I feel the blushes stay on longer and the intensity is just perfect. Unlike some brushes pick way too much products and leaving your cheek look like a monkey butt.. Not nice at all, blah~
I have 3-4 of this brush which I think I'm really crazy with this brush.

 4. E.L.F Kabuki Brush
Best kabuki brush, perfect for face powder or loose powder. When I'm in the mood of sheer makeup look, I like to use this to set my foundation, gives a really nice, translucent kind of look to the skin. Normally, I pair it with Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder for a natural look or budget friendly look. It is big which makes the whole setting process really quick. It is very fluffy and soft too.

 5. EcoTools Brush
Another brushes that I like is this EcoTools brush, very soft, I would only use this with my face powder or any other MAC Beauty Powder for a really nice, soft focus look. Compare with the E.L.F Kabuki Brush, this brush actually pick up more product, so my opinion is best to be used with powder foundation or just lightly swipe across the pan and gently apply onto skin, a heavy hand might cause the whole base makeup look a bit overwhelming and cakey.

 6. E.L.F Fan Brush
I'm not sure if this brush will have a place in everyone's heart. For me, yes because when I'm 1st started to use a blush, you know, I'm so timid with the color because I really don't what my cheeks to look like a chimpanzee's butt, too red and too, well, just not nice! With this fan brush, it actually change my nightmare towards blushes. It picks up just the right amount and whether you use it light handed or heavy handed, the risk of having animal's butt on your face has been drastically reduced. It works really well with highlighter too, I highly recommend this for a blush /highlighter beginner.

 7. EcoTools Small Kabuki Brush
I normally like to carry this around because of the cute size and it works really good. I use it for my face powder and blushes. I like to hold at the middle of the brush whereby I actually squeeze all the entire brush making it more compact and dense, than dab it onto my Hourglass Blushes and draw little circle on my cheek, it really, really works. I think it gives me a really nice flush of color when I use this as a blush brush. It actually helps my blushes to be very precise on the right spot. Or, sometimes, I just use it as blending brush, just to blend in everything, ensure no harsh lines between cheeks and face, jaws and etc.

 8. E.L.F Powder Brush
Nothing special, just my everyday powder brush. Please not to use in stippling motion as I feel it itched my skin, a gently swipe will do. Good to use with face powder, pressed/loose powder

Overall, I suggest beginners to start with drugstore brand brushes instead jump straight into designer brand. Designer brushes might be good and most of us don't even query about the quality but please remember a good designer brush normally have a steeper price tag compare with drugstore brand. However, if there are brushes that worth the price you pay, go for it, it isn't easy to find a good makeup brushes.
Just my advice, good brushes aren't always must be expensive, some can also be found from drugstore brand. Cheap brushes aren't always the best but most of the time, they are more affordable and more accessible for people who are on budgeting.

Review: Milani Liquid Eye Liner Pencil

I know, I know... I'm so late for the hype but the Milana Liquid Eye liner pencil is amazing.
Since it has been in the market for some times, I'm not going to talk a lot like an old nanny, blabbering non stop.

Straight forward, the texture is so creamy, an it feels buttery soft and smooth. Sometimes eyeliner can be a little bit torturing when it becomes hard and scratchy, the eyelid hurts a lot.
I got black and brown eye liner pencil and honestly, I'm not a huge fan with pencil liner, liquid nor gel liner. I just use whatever I have and if I couldn't find one, it is alright, not a big deal, after all I still can leave my house without any of them.

I'm really happy with my purchase because it is so affordable and works nicely. It lasts almost 6-8hours on my eyelids (quite oily at certain time). It stays on for a real good time and it doesn't smudge.

However, since it is so creamy, it is quite hard to do a perfect cat eyes/ any wink at the end of the eye. The products melts (buttery smooth) once it contacts with my body heat, so I do have to use a little eye liner brush to tidy the eyeliner look (for a real cat eye look), but nonetheless, it is a great product.
No problem for a quick liner just glides on like a dream.

Last but not least, it is a great product and I will definitely repurchase it. Personally I prefer brown as the pigmentation is really intense, for a day to day look, I prefer the brown color more than black.

Review: Drugstore Skincare Products

Couple weeks ago, I did some mini haul from the drugstore, keeping in mind that there are goodies available in drugstore. I've tried Naruko skincare products before, and seriously I think it works quite nicely and suits my skin. I decided not to go too, too crazy on the drugstore skincare, so I only picked up the Naruko Magnolia firming and brightening toner, Naruko Marjoram & lavender peeling gel, Naruko Rose & botanic HA moisturizer and Clinelle Thermal Spring water.

Well, since I'm such a skincare maniac, here's my thoughts about them.

Starts with Naruko Magnolia firming and brightening toner. It is has a soft, soothing flora scent, nothing special despites of the liquid serum like consistency. It applies nicely without drying out my skin, thanks for the alcohol free ingredients. The toner absorbs into my skin nicely without leaving making my skin feel sticky nor heavy. I do layer more skincare items later on for better hydration.
In terms of firming and brightening, I can't tell how well it works, simply because I'm quite fair and yet to see any significant aging signs on my skin. Well, keep my finger crossed it helps my sagging skin (that I didn't notice).

Next, I decided to talk about the Clinelle Pure Swiss Thermal Spring water. I have to say I don't like this at all. Firstly, the mist didn't spray out properly, water dripping around the nozzle then the whole bottle. Seriously, I'm freaking angry especially on those days I want to hydrate my skin quickly. Another thing, it stings my face, I've never encounter any issues with my Avene face mist, Uriage face mist, name it most of the French drugstore face mist that available in drugstore. At first it stings, then my skin turns red and warm, probably due to sensitive or allergy reaction. Oh my...this is a total disappointment. I will not repurchase it.

As for Naruko Marjoram & lavender peeling gel, thumbs up. I enjoying using it because it is so fast. The product is easy to use, hassle free. The scent is slightly awkward but the outcome is pretty good. My skin feels smooth and soft. The skincare products that apply on later sinks into my skin nicely. Anyway, I don't think it should be use too frequent, I only use it once and maximum up to twice a week only. The brightening effect is there but doesn't last long, I would say around 1-2days. This peeling gel is only remove dead skin cells but it will not unclog pores, so if you've serious pores clogged issues, please use face scrub and mud mask (just my suggestion).

I like to keep the best for last. The new version of  Naruko Rose & Botanic HA aqua cubic moisturizer EX.
Talking about rose, the rose scent smells adorable but it might be a bit over powering for some people. I like the texture very much, is more like a thick serum but apply onto skin like a dream. Most important is it doesn't feel oily nor sticky. My skin certainly feels more plump and hydrated after application.

Do you have any drugstore skincare recommendation? I would love to know and give them a try !

Review: Hada Labo Lavender/ Whitening Hand Cream

Hello, I've been a fan of hand cream/ hand lotions. Since I'm staying in an air-conditioning room for almost 24/7, having a hand cream has become a must for me. My hands, especially the edges around my nails will start to peel off and it isn't nice to look at nor good to touch. Ouch!

I spotted the Hada Labo hand cream awhile back, but never really got the interest to try it. Well, this time, I decided to give it a try. It comes with 2 variations, another one is rose -pink color tube, which is meant for hydration. I think I like lavender scent better, so I picked up this purple buddy.

It contains:

  • Arbutin and lavender essential oil which can maintain the youthfulness of our hands
  • Contains hyaluronic acid which can maintain & hydrate the hands
  • Contains vitamin E and vitamin B5 which will repair dry and dehydrated skin
  • The lavender essential oil is obtain from Europe. The scent is soothing and relaxing, plus what's great about it is that it helps to whiten the skin and keeping our hands more hydrated and supple.
  • Coloring, fragrance and mineral oil free.
A month of friendship with this purple buddy, I would like to say, it works quite well. I have less problem with skin peel off around the edges of my nails and less scaly hands. The scent is very calming too. However, I still couldn't tell if it really helps in whiten my hands. The cream itself is quite creamy, very easy to rub and blend into the skin. It also doesn't leave any oil or sticky residue after apply. I like to reapply the hand cream from time to time as I'm dealing with lots of paper work which sometimes got myself a bad papercut ( >.<)
Price is slightly higher than regular drugstore hand cream, I still think is consider more affordable than those high end hand cream.

Overall, I give it a thumbs up. Anyone who like the lavender scent, you'll definitely like it. I don't think it will serve well for terribly dry winter weather as you will have to reapply quite regularly. For me, this is a good hand cream for my current needs yet didn't burden my wallet.

Is All About My Drugstore Products Adventure For The Month of May

Hello... well, today is all about drugstore products... and seriously, I think I liking them a lot.

So, start with the stuffs in my bathroom

  1. Sunsilk Damage Reconstruction Conditioner - cheap and effective, leaving my hair soft and fluffy
  2. Tsubaki Head Spa Extra Cleansing with Essential Oil - deep cleanse my scalp, leaving a cool sensation before rinse off. I feel it strips off my natural hair oil, so after use, I must follow up with a conditioner. Use once a week. Well, no more itchy/oily scalp for now.
  3. Nivea In-shower conditioner (Normal skin)-  after shower, just lather it all over the body, leave it for about 1min, and rinse off. I think it is quite fast and easy, but I'm not really liking the sticky hint left behind. So.... I give this a thumb down.
  4. Neutrogena Deep Cleanse (Brightening, Mulberry) Cleansing Foam - I'm in love with this, gentle yet effective. I actually got quite a lot compliments on my skin lately. It smells amazing too. The dispenser pump out just the perfect amount of foam for my entire face :)
  5. Lactacyd Feminine Wash (Nourish) - seriously I think this works better for me as compare with the other versions. Smell fresh and just keeps my V clean. I'm a loyal user.
  6. Simple Kind to Skin Exfoliating Body Wash - no scent and more like a gel consistency. It contains loofah which works as the exfoliator. I think daily use is okay, but if you are looking for a higher strength of exfoliation for the body, this is slightly too gentle.
  7. Dove Instense Repair Shampoo - one word : perfect ! Even without using conditioner my hair is still soft and smooth. Well, so far so good, I didn't see any split ends appear.

Next move to the face part: skincare!

  1. Olay White Radiance Brightening Intensive Serum 50mL - it just does what it says. My skin become fairer, seriously and my beautician was keep on asking me what I've done to my skin. lol. It applies easily, just 2-3pumps and it absorbs quite fast too, no oily at all.
  2. Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturizer - I'm just so addicted to this thing. Basically, it just keeps my skin clean and matte but not drying.
  3. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer - I only use this at night, not every night but 3-4 times a week, when I'm too tired to layer my skincare and just want to have a quick moisturizer. Squeeze, rub between my palm, spread onto face. Viola! Somehow, I really not liking to massage it on my face because I notice the longer I massage/apply onto my face, the vitamin E scents become stronger. Hmm, I just not enjoy that scent.
  4. Palmer's Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Lip Butter - nice name, nice scent, nice texture
  5. Sunplay SPF60, PA+++ - first of all, I got this simply because the lil chick is so cute, yellow is cheerful color. The sunscreen itself is runny, shake well before use. Just like a regular sunscreen.

And now for my feet. Keep it simple. I received a sample size of Ellgy cracked heel cream last month which came in with my monthly must read magazine, so I tried it and miracle happens. I noticed my heels become smoother, well, obviously I don't have the perfect "NO CRACKED HEELS". So 1 day application keep it hydrate, 2nd day application I started to see less noticeable cracked heels, and some dry patches have been cleared off. Once the little sample finished, I quickly bought a tube, just so happy to tell, it heals my cracked heels! Wheeee ~~
(p.s -- the socks is perfect in size, stretchable and breathable, I wear it after apply the cream)

I even use drugstore products before heading to work:

  1. Clinelle Powder Compact (Ivory) - super natural on my skin, very flattering. Most important is the matte finish, not cakey, no problem for my pores size too.
  2. Revlon Brow Crayon (Dark Brown) - almost matches my original brow color. 2-3 strokes, and use the spoolie attached, and I got a nice and natural looking brow.
  3. Za Ever Brow (Natural Brown) - super easy to use of compare with the Revlon Brow Crayon, totally dump proof, perfect for beginners. I also like the little spoolie attached. Well, I think I just meet my drugstore holy grail for my brows. As much as I like my Revlon one, I can assure you, I like this very, very, verrrrrrry much! Thanks Cynthia for recommend this to me.
  4. Za Perfect Fit Concealer (02) - just nice. Well, I might looking for another brand to try out. So far, I'm quite satisfy with it.

Lastly, is all about my lotions. When you stay in a cool, dry condition, whether you like it or not, you must have lotions, so do I.

1. Vaseline Hand and Nails Lotion- Smell good. Very smooth and soft, non oily.
2. Nivea Intensive Moisture Body Milk - I can't believe I'm actually liking this more and more. Really soothes my dry skin, bye bye itchy skin and Hello silky soft skin.
3. Vaseline Total Moisture Nourishing lotion - I use this a long time ago, probably during my University years. Basically I like Vaseline lotions, smells good and non sticky. The only Vaseline lotion I can't use is the pink bottle lotion : Perfect 10, B3, Whitening... the list goes on. I think I'm allergic to the perfume in it, making my skin very itchy.

Wow.... such a long, long journey and story to tell about my drugstore products adventure. I guess, that's all for today. I like using drugstore products, they are affordable and quite efficient. Looking forward for more drugstore products adventure in the future.

Have a nice day!

Review: Naruko Arbutin Intensive Brightening Mask

Is time for my another review for the Naruko sheet masks. I just think they work wonderful to my skin. I've decided to try out almost all of the Naruko Essential line sheet masks simply because they are amazing!

Without further ado, here's my thoughts for the arbutin intensive brightening mask. Same as my previous posts regarding about the Naruko sheet masks, it comes in 5pcs/box with a very affordable price and great quality. Someone asked me if Naruko sheet masks is better than the famous MBD (My Beauty Dairy) mask, so here's my answer. Yes, I personally do think it is better and the cloth itself is thicker and able to stay on my face for about 20-30mins without drying out and still remain very wet and soaked with all the essence. If you are looking for more quantity go for MBD but if you don't mine about that, you can give the Naruko sheet masks a try. Just to clarify, I do like MBD but if I'm looking for a more luxurious one, I'll go for Naruko sheet mask. Price wise, I think it is almost the same, doesn't gives too much burden to my wallet.

I don't think I've noticed an incredible outcome after used, all I can tell is,  it is really hydrating and smells good. My skin definitely feels more plump and less oily.

As compare with the Naruko VC Brightening & Deep Hydrating Mask, I think that one works better and truly can notice a huge difference before and after. Arbutin is marked as one of the key ingredients in brighten up the complexion but for this, I'm sorry to tell, it just didn't show any significant difference.

Overall, it is still good for the intense hydration feel to my skin. I don't think I'll repurchase this, instead, I'll just stick my hands on the VC Brightening & Deep Hydrating series, simply because it seems to work more effective to my skin.

Have a great weekends ahead~

Empties: Skincare & Simple Cleansing Sets

Is the end of February, I decided to do products empties this month (once every 2 months) so I can keep track with my skincare stuffs. I have A LOT but on the way to finish them before getting more and trying more new skincare.

Well, I will include my thoughts about them along with the product listed.

  • Avene Thermal Water Mist - I love the face mist, spray out like a thousand of fine water, sit nicely onto my skin every time I've done with my cleansing routine. It evens calm down some of my redness due to the super hot weather. It does makes the skin feel hydrate after spray but still need to apply moisturizer to prevent skin dehydration
  • Kose Infinity Advance Serum I - As I've mentioned in my current skincare routine, I absolutely enjoying using this. Really light weight for current weather. In case you want to read my previous review, click HERE
  • Kose Moisture Skin Repair -  light liquid lotion, apply after cleansing, then only follow up with toner & moisturizer. Not sure if it helps to boost my skin hydration, but it feels good on the skin
  • Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion - best drugstore cleansing lotion I've ever come across. As for me, I'm not putting on too much makeup onto my face, by using this cleansing lotion is just fine for me. Super light but removes my sunscreen and brow pencil very well. Not sticky or oily, I'm pretty sure it doesn't irritate my eyes as well. Definitely repurchase it later on / once I've hit pan for more cleansing milk that I currently own.
  • Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes - best drugstore cleansing wipes. I like travel with this, no worries of product leakage especially travel with cleansing oils. I normally use the cleansing lotion as 1st cleansing steps, then use this facial wipes to remove the cleansing lotion. Then, I even wash the facial wipes and wipes all over my face again before move to cleansing foam. Very happy using this. I'm constantly getting this item now because it really makes my whole cleansing routine so much easier and less hectic.

That's all for my empties this month. Project hit pan really helps me to finish up my skincare, mind me of some products that I've bought and yet to finish. It also remind me how many products I have and restrain myself for getting more products, reduce unnecessary expenditure.

Skin Detox: Using Queen Helena Mint Julep

Is Wednesday, mid weekday, and like everyone out there, I'm waiting for the arrival of weekends. While, despite of feeling tired and skin look dull with some new volcanoes eruption on my skin, decided to do some skin detox using clay mask.

Today, I'm using Queen Helena Mint Julep Masque, I will say this tube is great but of course, I have some issue with it too. Let's cracking!!!

Before that, I need to emphasize on my skin condition. I'm not a guru nor skin specialist, but I'm pretty sure I love to experimenting with different types of skincare products. Currently, I've sensitive, combination skin with some bumps around my chin and forehead, blame PMS.

Anyway, like most of my evening skincare routine, after cleanse my face, follow up with exfoliation then I will start to mask.  Using clay mask is probably the best detox for my skin, it just acts like vacuum cleaner, sucks out all the impurities and shrinks the appearance of my red acne spots.

As great as it sounds, it can dry out the skin too, so whenever I use this, I will make sure to follow up with a hydrating mask. It certainly makes the whole face look better, plump and glow. Just in case your skin is already dry, please ignore this because it does removes the oil on your face.

Even my sensitive and combination skin sometimes gets dry after using this. It applies thick onto face, this green paste will make my skin tingle a little bit. Leave for around 10mins or until it is fully dry, then wash it off. Trust me, your skin just looks better!

Personally, I like the out come, really nice and freshen up my dull complexion due to lack of sleep and stressful work.Since I've owned this for quite sometimes, I seriously can't remember the exact price, it is around USD 5-7.

Overall, I give this a thumbs up, just beware if you have dry skin, skip it or only use on those acne spots.
Happy mid weekdays! 2 more days to go before weekends... hooray!

Be Gone, Dark Eye Circles! Review: Za Perfect Fit Concealer #02

In this competitive world and working environment, we work hard to secure our job, business, sometimes we even gave up our sleeping time to complete the tasks or stay awake for tele-conferences. Well, here comes the panda..... we got our panda eyes, some are dark, blue, puffy, etc...

I've puffy eyes, but never have terrible dark circles that last around my eyes forever during my university life and during my beginning of work life. Slowly, the panda eyes developed without any alarm and by the morning I awake, oh my.... I have dark circles and it is puffy. I used to use Benefit Boi-ing concealer, it think it works just fine but when my skin is a bit drying, the concealer sits into my lines and this doesn't look good at all. Holy moly, the worst thing when it comes to concealer is ... no conceal effects, emphasize lines around the eye area and make the whole eye area look dull.

After stop using my Boi-ing concealer, I'm hunting like a mad hunter in stores, searching high and low for something works for me. For me, when I'm trying something new, I like to start from drugstore brand, it is cheaper and just in case it doesn't work, you can just pass to somebody else. No hard feeling, no breaking wallet.

I read few reviews from the internet off course, so decided to try the concealer from Za, my sister-in-law using it too, but I think hers was discontinued. I got the perfect fit concealer in shade 02. Shade 01 is way too pale for me, it looks greyish, so I passed.

I will say a little goes a long way. It comes in a lovely pink tube. Hygiene and easy to dispense. It claims to minimizes unevenness and long lasting conceal. I think this works just fine. One thing I'm really agree with the description on its box are keyword - moisturizing and collagen. Some people likes to use brush to apply concealer but my case, I don't like using brush at all, or maybe I've yet to meet the Mr.Right in brushes. After done all the prepping, you know, sunscreen, foundation....then I will squeeze out 2 pea size, dab 3 dots on my under eye area, using my ring finger, lightly dab/pat around the eyes area. And then, ciao panda eyes... I think it is okay in terms of conceal the dark eye circles, but not for reduce my puffy eyes.

Here's my thoughts:
easy to use, quite long lasting, my work, sometimes my makeup stay on my face more than 8 hours without touch-up. I'm glad it lasts quite well, the whole thing just adheres nicely on my eye area. No smudging or oxidize into grey spot. It feels light on the skin too.It is quite cheap so not a big issue to repurchase. I use it on my acne spots too. Just in case your skin is dry and flakes, don't use this, it will emphasize the dry spot.

Price: RM 25-29 (depends on the stores)
Volume: 9g
Manufactured in China

Overall, this is worth to try and cheap. I believe people with more serious under eye problems may not find this product helpful as the consistency is slightly liquid but it is still buildable. I'm not listing this into my HG and so,  I will look around for more drugstore eye concealer but this is certainly a steal. Absolutely enjoy using it.

Review: Revlon Colorstay EyeBrow Liner # Dark Brown

Bonjour....

I'm back and ready for another review from the drugstore brand. Since my brows have been trimmed few weeks ago, I noticed I'm no longer able to not putting on brow pencil before going out. By the way, I'm still very new to things like brow liner/crayon/pencil because most of the time, I'm using brow powder and well, I do think brow pencil works the best and easiest to handle with.

Start from the packaging, I'm super glad with the whole thing. I can travel easily with just a brow pencil and it comes with the brush. I just have to twist the pen to get the product, filled in my brows, brush it out and tadaa.... I'm done and it looks so natural.

I've been using it for almost 3 weeks now, and I use it daily for more than 8 hours. I'm certain to tell, this stuff is amazing. I'm not sure how much color range this product has because when I purchased it, the whole shelf only left with this color. Well, I guess, Asian drugstore, how many people will have golden brows.

Price: RM 35++
Volume: 0.28g
Manufactured in Germany
Waterproof, lasting power is amazing since I've been using it more than 8hours per day without any smudging.

Overall, I salute with this item, so well made and just fit into my expectation. I've not try other drugstore brow pencils, but since this one work nicely, I think I will stick with it. Omg, I could't believe how much I love it, I just hooked with it straight away. Absolutely love it!

Project Re-love: Thought of Revlon Lip Butters

I decided to start a project called Re-love. Basically it is something I used to love but been forgotten as time pass by. The quantity of having lipsticks for a women is infinity, is never enough for us and we never stop buying things we love. But then, how much can we really use? Few days ago I spring cleaned my makeup box, I threw away some expired and long ignored eye palettes and lipstick. I did struggled a short while before putting some loved products into rubbish bag. So, to prevent further wastage I thought starting a 'project re-love' will be just nice.

Basically this whole project is about finding and alternate using some used products. It can be anything I've missed out after stored them in boxes or left aside. I owned 4 lip butters from Revlon, all of these were purchased during BOGO sales. I'm quite conservative on lip products, I don't go for neon or super bright colors, I prefer something more flattering and suits for everyday use.

Here I represent my 4 Revlon lip butters (from left to right):
Cherry Tart, Berry Smoothie, Sweet Tart, Strawberry short cake

color swatches (from left to right ): cherry tart, berry smoothie, sweet tart, strawberry shortcake

Personally I think these color suits my asian skin tone very well. I enjoying using these color so much. The colors are very build-able.

  • For day to day, I like to use berry smoothie, it is a very easy to go with color.
  • Cherry tart appeal to be redder than  I thought, so I only use dabbing motion during application, I like the red tint, not overly done, just very natural.
  • Sweet tart is a brighter blue tone pink. I don't really use this during working hour. I prefer to use it during weekend, or on a relaxing day. A plain shirt with a nice part of  shorts/jeans, 1-2 swipe of this on lips and you are ready to go.
  • Strawberry shortcake maybe the least favourite. The pink is more blue tone and light. Sometimes the color accentuates my lip lines and making my teeth look yellow. I might look a bit sick too when my complexion is dull and tired. But overall, this is still a nice color to have, I only apply with light handed and it looks okay and still flattering.
The only complains I have with the lip butters are:
  • doesn't last long. I do need to reapply every 3-4 hours
  • it is drying and makes my lips peel (sometimes)
In a nutshell, I have love and hate relationship with these lippies. Since I mentioned it is Project Re-love, which means there are still parts of the pros from these lip butters that had a stand in my heart. I advice anyone who wants to try and use, please get your lips scrubs and moisturize before apply the lip butters. This really helps in terms of colors and reduce the appearance of lip lines. Well, I love lip butters and I don't mind to tolerate with the dryness, I apply lipbalm every now and then when using the Revlon lip butters.

Happy Saturday, any plan for this weekends?

Review: Naruko Mandarin Orange & Pineapple Pore Refining Mask

Aloha, how can I get my hands off ?!
I pretty much use mask 3-4 times per week, I love mask, especially sheet mask, they are my skin rescue ranger.

Previously I'd tried the hydrating and brightening mask from Naruko, I love it so much and decided to try the others. This time I only bought the pore refining mask, I think I have large pores, not sure if this mask helps, but for the price and quality I'm pretty sure Naruko skincare is worth to try. Not to mention the very simple yet practical packaging, every items we bought, is actually donated to charity.

Let's jump into the review part. Any sheet mask I've used, I prefer something that thin enough yet hold up the  essence nicely. Thin sheet mask must be able to adhere onto my skin perfectly, else, I will never ever buy it again. The whole purpose using sheet mask is to ensure skin get well nutrients, if the masks doesn't sit nicely, is totally no point.

Talking about pore refining, when your skin get well hydrated, pore will shrink significantly. Water helps to plump up the skin and brighten the complexion. I like how well the mask hydrate my skin, but in terms of pore refining I will give it 80%, well better than nothing. I notice a better pore tightening effect after using the MBD apple polyphenol sheet mask. Once your skin is hydrated, the oil secretion will also reduce.

The mask itself is very light scented, more like a fruity orange scent. Each mask is well soaked with essence, I like the mask doesn't dripping with lots of essence. It comes in perfect size whether is the mask/cotton/packaging.

Same as the other Naruko sheet masks, 1 box contains 5 pieces, cost round RM19.90, sometimes when Watson having sales, you will get 10-15% off.

That's all for my short review. Have a nice day!

Review: Naruko VC Brightening & Deep Hydrating Mask

Hello, it has been so long I've not been blogging at all. Gosh, time flies, lots of things happens.
My beloved grandpa passed away last month, I felt terrible and regret for not spending time with him for his very last time. The rest of the incident, I prefer to keep for myself as memories.

Well, busy schedule on work and in life. I've been visited by some acne germs as well. I'm currently change to some new skincare, combination of drugstore, salon and high end. I will update my skincare routine some time later.

I just bought the Naruko face mask few days ago. My skin feels very dry after using some skincare with salicylic acid. Since Watson carries Naruko brand and I'm pretty sure I like this brand as much as an ant meet sugar! I decided to pick up this mask. There are another face mask for pores and whitening.
But when the skin is thirsty, the most food it needs is water for hydration, and so, I picked this back home.

It comes in a medium size box with 5 pieces sheet mask. The packaging isn't attractive but I'm very sure with the product quality. I've tested few pieces, the mask is dense and well soaked with essence. Good thing is, everything comes in good and perfect portions. No extra essence dripping, the mask itself is similar like the beauty dairies mask but thicker.

After complete my cleansing routine, I will open 1 piece of mask and put nicely onto my face. It feels cooling and very hydrating. The essence is translucent but not too sticky. My sensitive skin also get soothes and hydrates. Because everyone has different face feature, such as smaller cheeks, bigger nose and etc, I will always tear the ends of eye ares on the mask, so that it adheres better.

I basically will leave it for about 20mins. Then gently massage the mask over my face. Rub my palms and using my own body temperature, massage my face for the essence to absorb. Let me tell you, it feels so nice and my skin looks brightens and plump. Later on, I follow up with moisturizer.

I highly recommend people who are on budget, skincare fanatic, anyone... to try it out. 5 pieces in 1 box cost only RM19.90. Cheap and very effective! I'm thinking to try out another 2 types of its mask.

Thanks for spending time reading my blog, I appreciate it very much.
Have a nice day

Review: Biore UV Aqua Rich BB SPF50

Talking about current weather, the sun seems to bite my skin more than ever. The weather isn't good at all, most of the time it is extremely hot and dry. Things become even worse when I stay somewhere near the beach. Though I'm not super fanatic with fair skin, but seeing my skin become slightly tan make me feel a tiny bit uncomfortable and dang! freckles!

Few months ago, I saw some fellow bloggers posting about getting free sample for the newly release Biore UV Aqua BB. I went to facebook and click, I got a free sample, but it seriously make me wait until * neck long like a giraffe*.

Before the samples arrived, I went to Watson and got myself 1 big tube. I believe it was having promotion, so I bought at price around RM27.

As for the product details, everything pretty much already revealed in pictures attached.

First of all, I'm very pleased with the packaging. I think as I aged, I prefer simple packaging, not too fancy, so that I can travel with them easily. I like how it comes in a squeeze tube, hygienic wise and I'm able to control how much product I need.

It works more like a tinted sunscreen with SPF50. If you're have good skin/ minor skin problem, using this on its own is just fine. Concealer is needed for those who looking for a higher coverage. This item works best for paler skin probably people not tan than NC35.

I usually used it as sunscreen then set with my Stila Illuminating powder #10watts. I like how it looks on my skin, semi matte + glow. It does help in brighten and even out my skin tone. Sometimes I just apply it and I'm ready off to work. It doesn't feel sticky or heavy. Normally I will apply it from 9am-10pm, in between I do use some blotting paper to remove excess oil. I will consider the application is quite long lasting.

Next, talking about the texture, more like a combo of liquid and mousse. It blends on easily. I do feel and notice it hydrate some dry patch. A tube probably can last up to 3months.

Nevertheless, I will repurchase if I ran out the whole thing. Perfect for travelling.

Thanks for reading!

Lips Food with Dark Chocolate & Peppermint?

Hello..... Hmmmmmmm.... who doesn't love Dark chocolate & peppermint, perfect combo!
But. Wait. It is now in form of lipbutter. How nice is that!

After watching the monthly favourite from Zoella I decided to give it a try. I like lipbalm, especially the handy version, no fingers dipping in and out, on and off from the tin.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula always have really nice things to try and the signature cocoa scent is a yay for me, but nay for those who hate sweet cocoa scent.

Item retails for around RM11-13 depends which drugstore you're visit to.
I like the slanted application part, makes life so much easier, not a problem at all if you got no mirror.

It leave a cool minty hint on the lips, it feels nice. Haha! The lip butter is translucent but give a nice glossy finish, look great even apply on its own. I like to use this during night time, as a lip therapy. I love to put on a thick layer, it doesn't feel sticky at all. The next morning, no more flaky dry lips... Hurray!

Lastly.... have fun trying tasty lipbalms.... I know Smackers has lots .... hehe!

Review: Avene Micellar Lotion Makeup Remover

Hello lovely ladies..... I love things to be simple yet effective. I've came across with Avene cleansing water, a makeup remover in forms of water, similar like Bioderma. Don't get me wrong, the concept is similar like Bioderma, no rinse yet able to remove makeup by the end of the day.

I've no tried Bioderma cleansing water, it is very hard to get one since it is not available in my country, plus the shipping is slightly expensive if I ordered online. But, if got chance, I would still wanted to give it a try.

Let's see some product details

I got this item few months back. I decided to search for a new cleansing water after my Mandom cleansing water hit pan. Sometimes, I'm really sick with oil remover, especially the PMS moment. You just feel so tired and hoping to jump to bed as soon as possible. However, I do agree cleansing water may not able to cleanse the skin like oil makeup remover do.

I bought this from Sasa at price around RM62 for 200ml. It doesn't have any scent. It just a fine flowing water that able to eat up all the shit from face. If I'm on lazy mood, I will use it as the only makeup remover. But I'm getting less lazy these days, I will follow up with a milk cleanser/oil base cleanser then use a cleansing foam/gel to wash my face as the final cleansing step.

I love how it perform on its own. I enjoy how it pampers my skin, reduce the redness and reduce it to become more sensitive. It works great! I notice my lipstick is the hardest to remove even using oil base makeup remover. But, using this with a cotton pad.... 2 swipe max... I got back my original bare lips.

Avene is very famous with their Thermal Spring water as the core for almost every products. Price wise it still belongs to higher end drugstore skincare. As far as I like it, I still think the no rinse concept should not be adheres to people who have sensitive skin. I always follow up with another cleanser and rinse it off. Just my 2 cents...

Lastly, it is such a great makeup remover for any sort of skin types. It works effectively and soothes my very sensitive skin. If you have hard time finding the Bioderma, why not just give it a try? Perhaps, you'll like it.

Have a nice day!

Review: Clinelle UV Defense SPF28 (White)

Hello..... Sunny days make me happy...but not to forget application of sunscreen is utmost important.
I've been using the Cellnique sunscreen SPF 30 on and off but it between I replace it with the Clinelle sunscreen. I got it from pharmacy and after reading all the ingredients and product details I finally decided to invest some pennies for it.

Some product details, the pictures tell everything about it.

Since my skin has acting bad, I always take more precautions than ever before using or trying anything onto my face. Although it only has SPF28, I'm glad enough with how it makes my skin feel. I did feel a mild tingling sensation on my face, but I supposed it is alright. I didn't see any redness, instead I found it reduce redness and reduce acne breakout. The texture is light enough, I feel my skin is breathable each time I'm have it on. Sometimes, I just use it on its own without apply any base makeup.
I feel it makes my skin glow =]

Next for the packaging.....

It comes in tube form. No pump, just squeeze and you'll get the product. The sunscreen slightly watery, I like the texture, very easy to use and apply. Blends into skin nicely and no balling up after the next application. I found that some sunscreen balls up you foundation which is sucks and I absolutely hate it. I feel it does brightens up my whole complexion without causing any skin allergies. As for price, depends on the shop/pharmacy/ drugstore that you visit, price range around RM50-70, for the amount 50ml, it can last at least 1.5monts.

Overall, I happy with it and will definitely repurchase it. Have you try it? What are the sunscreen you have tried? Do share.... is midof the week now aka Wednesday.... Happy!
